Been ignoring Digweed?
...I have, the mundane (electro, techno) style of his Kiss sets in the early part of last year proved to be a real turn off. Listening to them was becoming as stimulating as watching non drying paint dry. For the first time in years I stopped listening to and downloading his Kiss sets, I?m sure I wasn?t alone. I grabbed his Kiss mix from Dec 4th (the porn shop WMC part 3) fark me ...criminal this was great and perhaps I had been wrong to write off Diggs. To the point does anyone out there have parts 1 and 2, originally broadcast in August, I missed um !!! Would be great to see them in the promos recommendations section alternatively just PM me if you have ftp.

part of the problem is that digweed plays this new sound just like he would his prog records. the tracks take on a new dynamic and should be mixed a bit differently imo. I have a lot of respect for digweed even tho i really dont listen to him much anymore. I might be one of the biggest tech-heads on this board, but when i think of techno/electro the first name that comes to mind isnt john digweed. I think everyone is kind of missing the point here, maybe you don't like the track because it's not some sasha anthem but digweed isnt exactly "it" when it comes to this new sound.

if i could be so bold i think if some of the other people on here who hate "electro" listened to a dj who did it proper, you may see where im coming from at least?

but im def not ripping on john for taking a new route. he has nothing to prove to anyone. and simply put, he is playing the music he enjoys listening to, isnt that all you can ask for out of a dj? it just seems to me that for fans of the 'dark techy prog', minimal/electro/techno is just the next level because the sounds are truely deep/techy/minimal. the music just naturally has a deeper feel to it. i m o

plus isnt the point of his kiss sets to expose new music?

like playing stuff that he likes and different stuff that he normaly plays, i mean some kiss sets i dont like but some others are very fresh

i embrace the changes in his sets and styles. if i don't really like a set i will sit on it and try it again later. if i miss the old style i put on some old sets.

I think it is funny how everyone ridcules digweed on playing stuff other then prog. If you have been in the business as long as him would you play other things then prog. I think so. He uses his kiss mixes to play stuff he can't play in the clubs. If you want to get the full effect of digweed go see him live. He has not lost anything at all. He can be as deep, dirty or evil as he wants to be. Just depends on what kinda of mood he is in. Keep the faith.

Well he hasn't been anything like that around here. I'm NOT bashing and I DON"T want to sound like a broken record, BUT you don't go see Richie Hawtin and expect to hear deep house. You don't see Carl Cox to hear downtempo. You expect Sasha to play beautiful music.etc, etc. I flew my dumb ass all the way to Spain to hear my favorite DJ play my favorite music... did he? HELL NO. All I can do is not buy his records, and not download his sets. The only thing left for me to do is to move one, and I hope I never have to do that.

every month there's a new "I hate electro" thread and "I hate Digweed's new style" thread. If after a year of hearing him play electro you don't expect to hear him play electro, you guys are untrainable. I expect him to play electro because it's what he has been playing. get over it. find a new "favorite" DJ or something. seriously.

^ well put pickle. It seems to be a continuous thread around hear. If you don't like digweed go listen to old oakey mixes and talk to your friends how things used to be and how many drugs you did back in the day.

I think Digweed is ignoring us without any new Kiss 100 sets the last couple of weeks. Btw, that Pawn Shop set is great. I still listen to it and it's almost a year old.

After 8 weeks of nappy changing and bottle feeding at all hours of the night I feel I`ve aged 10 years man. (on a feed right now as it happens)

Still, I`m sure I can muster up some energy in 11 weeks time sir.
