    Your classic Essential Mix?

I'm going back to Nick Warren and Sander K from 2001. Every track on them is mint. Deep Space Organisms, Mindcircus (even if this is a pretty handbag remix) , Moody!! Solstice!!! I love you (back when Creamer & K was it), FSOL! Subritual! (WTF happened to Austin Leeds?)

    Which one's your classic?

That's a nice one, a bit like his first Bedrock comp but builds up to peak time.

                Re: Your classic Essential Mix?

^ Tong told Digweed he liked that EM so much that it should be put on a cd. and so digweed took his advice and did so. true story.

                my personal fave?

Sasha's live essential mix at Lush in Portrush, February of years ago.

Starts off with pagianni trax's zoe (timo maas on the remix) and it just lifts off. The crowd was into it. timeless. Easily the best live essential mix ever done.

agreed on that digweed one that resembles his bedrock comp.
Moshic was classic. SO was desyn's first one. Oakey's Shadow Lounge also has a special place in my heart.
you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

                    Re: Your classic Essential Mix?

Damn man, pulled out the Digweed EM for a whirl. Giving me the same vibe as Bedrock 1 the first time.
BPT feat. DM Binxter - "Moody" (Kult)
artist unknown - "Sex" (white label)
I've never heard any prog music like those two since hearing them on the EM and Bedrock. Same with PMT - Deeper Water. They aren't as deep as the really deep dark tunes that were released later, but they're deeper than the prog tunes predating them, and they have this wicked tight groove and drugged out fucked up vocals. Seriously I've not heard any other tunes that give me the same feel as those three.

                    Thoughts?

                    [Edit]
                    Actually including the whole chunk:

Los Diablos Loos - "Locomotion" (Oboro)
Danny & Dick - "untitled" (white label)
Morel - "True [DD Dub]" (white label)
Morel - "True [DD Vocal]" (white label)
is just ... amazing. Deep, tight, chuggy and hypnotic. But never so deep that it stops moving forward, and not like freaky dark stuff. The groove is so signature of Digweed's build up style. Awesome shit.

The above tracklist is from www.tracklistings.net, but its not 100%correct. The 10th track should be "range of motion feat tanja dixon - what you mean to me (wink remix)" and the next track, witch is not listed, is "pete heller & tedd petersen - the look & feel (big room drama)". I poin this out, cause that heller track is one of my faves of all time, and i must have listened to this mix 100 times just for that tune. fuckin' love playing that song out...

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."
