    MET 2009 ٠ 125th Gala ٠ Domingo's 40 Years at the Met

Hi, everybody. Celebrating 7th Aniversary of Mercuryserver, I decided to start a new thread, something not very usual for Mercury visitors. I have decided to start it since I have a very eclectic musical taste. I like not only EDM, but also Classical Electronic music (Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, et al.), Rock, Progressive Rock, Jazz, Jazz Rock, Big Band, Blues, Classical Music (Ancient and Modern), Ethnic, Folk, Sudamerican Folk Music, Fussion, Ambient, and some inclassificable genres or types of international music, and because I have so many files of this kind that they deserve some others have it too. I want to think that there are other members of this wonderful page that share the same musical taste, or at least, some of you guys that maybe want to listen some others genres.. So, following parameters of Mercuryserver of not posting official CDs or releases, but only what we can call Bootlegs, let's started with one first amazing post.

First thing about my files. All of them are configurated for iTunes, which is mean that includes a picture of the album (when this is avialable), a little enhanced volume, all the files are correctly and properly labeled for a better enjoyment and non of them need password to decompress. It contains all information you can need inside. If you want to add some files feel free to do it. I just recommended to try to labeled correctly your files in order to allow others have a full and meaningful experience when they listen to it. Also, try to not borrowed links from other pages. Its a very annoying thing to discovered that a link is dead and there is no way to reposted, specially with this kind of musical files. Try to put only files you actually have it. Feel free also to let a message. And more important, give you the chance to listen other kind of music, maybe you discover that you are more ear opened that you immagined.

This first post belong to a very special date in the Metropolitan Opera House of New York, one of the biggest and prestigious Opera Houses in the world, and leader on world broadcasting of their seasons. This file belongs to the 125th Aniversary of the Met, which also was the 40th Anniversay of a living legend: mr. Plácido Domingo, who is the most important singer has never appear on the newyorker stage, with more live performances that even Enrico Caruso. To celebrate this important landmark, the Met made a special gala last Sunday 15th March 2009, with a very wide program, from Mozart to Wagner, which includes some of the finest singers of the contemporary Opera, such as Anghela Gheorghiu, Renée Fleming, Roberto Alagna, Juan Diego Flórez, Thomas Hampson, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Joseph Calleja, and of course, mr. Plácido Domingo.

This file contains two kind of mp3 files. First block are the single arias, which are 25 mp3 separated files. The second group is the full broadcasting with interviews and broadcast comments, in two big files of almost two hours each of them, belonging to the two parts of the actual broadcast with the intermission. So you can decide to listen just the arias, or listen the full show. The file also contains an rtf file with the full program, and a review of this gala taken from Internet (I just don't remember from what page I tooked).

    Enjoy!

Irina Bogushevskaya in Concert (Full video, Russian TV Broadcast)

As second post of this megathread, I share a video broadcasted by Russian television from the most important Russian singer: Irina Bogushevskaya. She is my favorite Russian artist, and she has no other singer in the world to whom compare with. She writes almost all songs she sings on stage. She is almost unknown outside Russia, and she almost always sing in Russian, even when she has sunged some swing songs from early 30s and some other composers from Latinamerica.

Irina mixtures jazz, swing, chanson, tango, bossa nova, cabaret-like style song, rock, classical and so on. She made of every song a real listening experience, and her musicians played with both stunning passion and commitement. Her partner on piano and responsible fro arrangements of all songs is Russian pianist Svetlana Mochalina.

With 3 albums on her account, she has established as one of the most important acts on his country, and people really love her. She doesn't response to market needs, so she almost hasn't record albums, but she played on theaters and concerts around Russia.

Probably the only international singer she can compares with is German singer Ute Lemper, so if you have listening her, you can have a little idea about the quality you can expect from this superb Russian singer. Of course, irina is little more different, more intimate and probably for that I prefer her above Ute Lemper.

Unfortunately on this concert for television she is not accompained by her usual band but by other musicians, and its very clear that they are not so good as to uplift her. Nevertheless, she's really an angel, and she captures you with her charm and lovely presence, and you can listen some of her best songs.

The whole file has a size of 706 MB, and hasn't password.

    Enjoy Irina.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy [1998 US] Live at Roxy; Boston, MA [7.12.1998]

This is an amazing live performance from one of the most outstanding acts in the US, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, a superb band that recovers and blends so amazing genres as Swing, Blues, Mambo, Rag, Big Band, Rockabilly, Dixieland, Jazz... They are a one of a kind band, and even when they are compared with The Brian Setzer Orchestra, they are much more musicians and they have a very much deep musical roots that probably any other group. This is an audio recording from a local FM station when BBVD start their career, from the time of their first oficial album --the have recorded four years before a first and outstanding and now out of print first album. Quality sound is very very good.

            No password needed. Just enjoy.

By the way, at this very momento I don't have any Mozart bootleg, but I promised to look for and if I find something, you can have for sure I shared with you.

              Mozart for free download

There you go. This is the official web page from the Mozart Archive were you can find all the Mozart Werke for free download. All Mozart compositions are for free download in separated files on mp3 files @ 96 kbps. Not the best quality, but at least allows you to listen some early works and have a general outlook at all his work. Of course, its a little annoying to download this way. For example, download Le Nozze di Figaro is not too recommended, and its obvious that is a page to listen fragments and not whole works. There is no info asbout the performers, but at this page its everything you wanted to listen to or knowing to.

It is Met's debut from Lady Joan Sutherland in 1967, a few months before she recorded this very same opera, Don Giovanni, conducted by non other than Karl Böhm. This is an amazing performance that shock you with such a power and brilliance that you will never beleived.

                        Rossiniana ٠ Flórez, Genaux, Ulivieri

This is absolutelly an astonishing performance of some of the best living voices in the world. But specially by Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez. What he do with his voice, his power, his brilliance, his color, is simply breathtaking. Brutal. This is one of the best live performances you will find of operatic arias from Gioacchino Rossini.

Irina Bogushevskaya - Live in Theater Elena Kamburova, Moscow, 2003

Here in Western world Irina Bogushevskaya's CDs are almost impossible to get, and I think that even in Russia her albums are not quite easy to get. She's almost unkown outside Russia. This is the only concert I can share of her at this thread because is not an official album. This concert doesn't exist as an album you can buy at a local recordstore. This is a special concert given by Irina Bogushevskaya in Theater Elena Kamburova, on December 3, 2003, in Moscow. She is accompained at piano by Svetlana Mochalina, a very good piano player with classical background that usually makes all the arrangements of her albums and she has a perfect musical chemistry with Irina's voice, as you can discover if you listen to.

In fact, this set of Russian songs has a powerful resemblance with some Franz Schubert Lieder cicles, as Die Schöne Müllerin. This is a very beautiful concert, with a very intimate atmosphere, and she sings here with an intensity that really will move you very deep.

The files are configurated for iTunes, as usual, and includes all lyrics of the songs, every single track contains it in Russian, so if someone speaks or reads it, can enjoy even more.

Europa Galante: Sara Mingardo & Fabio Biondi ٠ Live at Dresde 2001

Europa Galante ٠ Live at Dresde 2001 ٠ Mingardo & Biondi

This is an absolute and astonishing live performance by two of the very giants of Histrorical Baroque performance: fantastic Italian orquestra Europa Galante, leading by the most brilliant Italian violin player Fabio Biondi, playing for incredible contralto Sara Mingardo.

This is one of a hell concert given at Dresde in 2001. Unfortunately I have no more info about this concert, but you must listen this incredible performance. Astonishing, full of grace and power, brilliantly and boldly playing by both Mingardo and Biondi's Europa Galante. If you think that a public performance is quite diffferent to a quiet and relaxing at a studio, then you need to listen this amazing and unforgetable performance. This is simply one of the best of the best live performances I have ever listen, and you will not believe what you are listening to. Almost so brilliant and perfectly as a studio recording.

Hasse - Speso tra vaghe rose
Vivaldi - Atenaide - Cor mio

File has no particular order, so you can choice what track listen to. As always, no password needed. And please, please: Enjoy this live masterpiece!!!
