the good things obama and team have done...

there's negative stuff about his reactions to problems, so why don't we talk about the good stuff he's done.

    in my eyes i like...

    1. that he wants to better our ties with cuba. i want to go to cuba and would love to enjoy their culture.

    2. talks with russia. there's an old saying which runningman won't agree with, but its keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. i really do think obama knows this saying too.

    3. expansion of health care. i don't really see why its wrong to GIVE THE OPTION for greater healthcare. i can't go to the doc. i can't afford to go to the doc, so right now if i have to go to the doc, ya'll will end up paying for me. thats not really fair but neither is having to shell out 200 a month to get my teeth cleaned, and a general check up once a year.

    4. less bullshit about religions pulling people this way and that. i like when obama said that people need to let down the crap and start to work together. killing someone in the name of your religion and what you beleive in to be right, still is... murder. regardless of who you are. (and i am talking about killing an abortion clinics doctor..)

    5. no scare tactics. i don't feel like im being told the rest of the world is part of an axis of evil and i feel like the world is starting to realize were not all gullible retard hick fucks.

    6. i like the new tobacco stuff. its less regulated than cosmetics. it was time something happened.

    7. i like how there are numerous grants being given to new energy companies, like 3 of the companies here in washington trying to create new wind and solar stuff for planes and other mechanics.

mm. thats all for now. not had coffee yet. x

I'll bite on this one. In the short term, I can't think of one positive thing Obama's done. The stimulus plans haven't worked and not sure if they will. Obama even admitted that he is up nights because of all the debt he put the country in. GM still failed and employment is still high. States are going bankrupt. I could go on. So I'll wait and see because it's still early in his Presidency and some of this mess he did inherit, but some of it is his fault too. The buck stops with the President.

Surely the best thing he's done up to now is the obvious one.. replace Bush ?

I'll give him an incomplete on all the economic stuff for now, but he HAS made great strides in restoring our standing in the world, which is not an insignificant thing. MAJOR upgrade from Bush in that regard.

Also, we're finally ramping up the pressure in Afghanistan/Northern Pakistan. In one of OBL's most recent tapes, he was asking for money -- which is new -- and the Pakistani army is moving into South Waziristan, which is something Bush was never able to do. Both good things.

Bush doesn't deserve to carry Obama's luggage. I really couldn't stand Bush from the beginning, he just did not embody our country or it's values, he was an utter embarrassment. I'm glad someone who thinks is our president and will get back to you on the rest...

I would agree it'll take some time to see if the economic stuff works out. If it does over the next 4 years and barring no other problems, he should get re-elected easily. If not and the Republicans actually find a viable candidate (Palin you aren't it) then he may lose. Let's hope the economy does turn around because it's terrible right now.

this is true but neither does obama. i'm ready for a new party to swing the doors wide open and hit home. republicans and democrats are old news in my book. i'm tired of both parties.

although i do think obama is doing a great job mending relationships with critical countries, some of the people he sides with, particularly Zalaya, is perplexing to me. actually i guess it really isn't perplexing as much as it makes me nervous.

I like the new party thought ^^^

Also Chloe the keeping your friends close line--- IMO obama is looking weak to the rest of the world. I am not saying he should attack anybody or anything but to just come out with "deeply concerned" sound bites and to go over to Russia and suck Putins nuts wasn't what I thought should have happened. The countries that hate you like China, Iran, Venezuela, Russia might think that they can get away with things with this new president. Look at Israel they don't believe Obama and they are going to take action on their own.

I do really hope that Obama can turn this economy around.

I disagree with you of course, since I travel and meet people around the world. We are viewed differently finally and I think by showing emotions and feeling and talking to people you may not be comfortable with is the biggest sign of strength there is.

i agree with your points chloe but in the bigger picture i dont think he has done much really... and it is true that it is still a little early in his presidency but we will see. less reliance on religion and the openness to religion or anti-religion as a whole, is a major plus in my book.

i was a huge believer in him last year and now... im a little iffy.

one thing i liked about Bush is that he got shit done. no matter how crappy the decisions were, he got them done.

Yep. exactly. I am questioning his authenticity. Eventually you have to wake up and say "I hear a lot of talk but I am not seeing any action." Also Chloe is a big girl she doesn't need you to speak for her.

He is continuing the Bush policies. Spying on Americans, moving troops from Iraq to Afghanistan, bombing Pakistan, Iraq now has more civilian contractors- so technically you aren't pullin out of Iraq.

I see new taxes being formed. I see him breaking campaign promises. It is like whatever he says expect the exact opposite.

bush sure did get things done. he continually raped us of our rights and continually made us look like bigoted racist church mental assholes, he also made us look stupid as fook with his grammarrrrr and engrish, and was basically able to alienate everyone in the world in the process.

he sure did a really good job of completing those things for sure.

obama may not have had closure yet on anything he's done but its been 1/2 a year, not 8 long drawn out horrible awful years. yet.

I'm just a little shocked you guys have such loftly expectations of the guy. Obama didn't have the privilege of coming from a family of politicians like Bush, which obviously would give a new president the upper hand on all kinds of different fronts.

I would challenge many of you to take a whack at politics by volunteering for a campaign, then judge.
