    EDM Producers: productivity timeline charted

Have you ever noticed that longer you work on a track, the less you actually get accomplished? I think my productivity timeline must look something like this:

    Beats are my crack.

You need to take regular breaks, working solidly for one year is a Bad Idea,

and go with the Coca Cola, Pepsi mings.

Phew! I thought it was only me. Nice to know I'm not the only one.

It's true for me, but that's mainly because when I first start working on something, I get a lot of it down in the first day and spend the next few days tweeking that and making subtle changes. It may seem like I don't get much accomplished during those last few days because I usually don't add anything new, but that's really the part that determines whether the song sounds good or sounds like crap.

I have to sometimes let a track relax before I get too stressed out. Then I go back to it with a sane mind and cleared head.

oh man i had gotten myself so stressed out on a remix I have been working on and it got to a point where I couldn't ge the fucking thing out of my head all day ans all night it was there. It went away after a week or so and now I just need to finish up something to do with the song and it'll finally be done. I may even have someone whos willing to release it on a white label.

I have to take a break from my productions days at a time because it just gets so annoying listening to it over and over again....to the point where i feel it sounds like shit...when i come back to it a month later, it sounds good.
