Good point, actually its a little known fact, but home depot invented orange. They just opened their stores before christo and jeanne claude were able to get a mayor to approve the project that they started planning for in 1979.

You learn something new every gay.

i can think of a lot better things to do with $21 million. It's retarded. And what's even more ridiculous is the amount of people that are fascinated with that hawk in Central Park. They have a TV camera fixated on it all day. I heard someone say "OMG..there it is! It's on that ledge 4 windows from the left, one down!!"

Couldn't have put it better myself. I can't believe that yahoo spent that much of his own money to do something that it impressive primarily in its absurdity. I might be more on board with it if it wasn't so friggin' expensive (but I doubt it).

I'm actually an art fan, but Cristo's "conceptual art" is completely unimpressive from an artistic standpoint, IMHO. At the end of the day, I have to find it appealing to my eye, regardless of how creative or unusual the idea. I can't give someone credit for the bold idea to mark a path in NYC or wrap the Great Wall of China if it looks like crap. The scale of his projects is impressive, but when it all comes down to it, I just don't dig it.

I'm kinda the same way with my tunes. I can appreciate attempts to blend different sounds and do unusual things, but if it doesn't move my ear, I'm still just kinda like, "sigh."

Maybe if I saw it in person I'd have a different take on it. From where I sit though, it just seems silly...

I think it's funny to go to the park and watch the tourists take pictures of their families next to curtains. I mean, if you live on 5th avenue, or CPW or CPS, and had a nice view of the park, it might look pretty amazing, but being at ground level was rather dissapointing. I don't know if there's supposed to be a point to what they did, but I missed it if there was one. I'm partial to orange, reminds me of where I grew up (go SU ), so it's not all bad!

I think candyland in the park would've been awesome!

I like your pictures though, miketpoto. I think this is one of those reasons that living somewhere like NYC changes you...even if you don't like something, it's still just a stroll to the park away...you gotta love it.
