When we say we are taking the roof off, we really have! Heads Up Summer Party news...
Summer is officially here and following the series of super cool monthly Heads Up parties throughout the winter at our discreet East London venue, we thought it time to take the party outdoors. So this July, for the Heads Up Summer Party, we think it’s only right that you get a chance to dance al fresco. Defected Records is giving you the opportunity to dance under the sky in the open air and get up close and personal with the headlining DJs and some very special guests. This is a rare opportunity to dance outdoors in London and the Courtyard at Ministry of Sound will be turned into an outdoor arena from 9pm – Midnight on July 2nd. The area will be fully equipped and dance floor ready, including a souped-up, customised Dodge 4 x 4 vehicle that transforms into super-loud sound system provided courtesy of Redbull. And for those who arrive early enough, there will be a free drink plus a barbeque on hand giving it a mini-festival vibe to start the night with a true party sprit. This very special event will be available exclusively to all presold ticket holders.

JUNIOR JACK & KID CRÈME AND COPYRIGHT RECLAIM THE MINISTRY OF SOUND FOR TRUE HOUSE MUSIC

The evil hordes of tech and electro fans have been camped out in Ministry of Sound since our last roadblock event starring international disco superstars Bob Sinclar and Dimitri From Paris. Now it’s time for the Defected In The House Summer Party in London and it’s all about true house music with a little Defected Ibiza style.

For over a decade now, Defected has been the bastion of all things House, never has the label ridden off the coat tails of some flash-in-the-pan trend or become en vogue sub-genres of dance, we have set trends, defined a sound and are quite simply about quality shizzle. If it’s good our DJs will play it loud, it’s this consistency that sets us apart from the rest. Indeed both duos touch down in London for one night only hot from the Defected In The House Pacha Ibiza residency so expect more than a little of the Balearics too.

So, when talking about what brings the people out to play you can bank on the sound of Junior Jack and Kid Crème, core Defected artists with a track record of raising roofs the world over. Junior Jack is the relentless producer-DJ with a new album and new productions ready to drop. Not only known for his Defected classics amongst classics ‘Thrill Me’ and ‘E Samba’; as Room 5, he also topped the UK charts in 2003 with 'Make Luv' (a remake of Oliver Cheatham’s Saturday Night) and kept the number one slot for over four weeks making it one of the most successful dance tracks ever to hit the UK charts. Accompanied by Kid Crème, who could be considered Junior Jack’s equally successful twin DJ brother, alongside MC Shurakano, the triumvirate continue to traverse the globe playing at the world’s best venues including five nights with Defected at Pacha Ibiza this summer. Kid Crème (or Nicolas Scaravelli as his mum would call him) is a genius remixer and producer who has worked with some of music biggest names in pop ie. Kylie Minogue but is also responsible for the seminal mix to Shakedown’s ‘At Night’.

Sam and Gavin Copyright need no introduction as two of Defected’s favourite sons. Having just released their scorching hot video for future anthem ‘I’m All Yours’, their recent collaboration with Nuwella Love, Copyright are in a rich vein of form in the studio and according to Sam Holt, they’re really up for this one, “We cannot wait for this party, it’s a home gig as Defected returns to the home of House music in London! We love playing at MoS as it’s always great to party with the whole Defected crew in London... Expect the finest upfront house music bullets and classics for those that know! Roll on July...”

In the newly refurbished, revamped and renamed arena, 103 (formerly the Bar), you will find Defected’s newest signing Ridney. A fresh new artist who was given his first break by his good mate James Zabiela, here he makes his debut for Defected. With some powerful supporters of his sound that include Pete Tong and Swedish mafioso Axwell, he will be showcasing his newest release with James Talk entitled 'One For Me' already making waves on the Azuli label plus remix credits for Roy Davis Jr’s ‘Enjoy The Ride’ on Defected.

Further support comes from Defected In The House international residents Sam Divine and Andy Daniell showcasing the best of Defected’s underground to overground summer sound. This party will reflect the diversity of the labels, artists and producers Defected is involved with so if you're into true sound of house music on a Saturday night in July, this is most definitely the only place to be.
