On Sat July 9th New York event brand I'LL HOUSE YOU returns to Sweet Spot in DC to present a showcase by popular South African artist BLACK COFFEE. The Soulistic Black Coffee 2011 North American Tour will make stops in Toronto, Montreal, Denver, Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Oakland from June 30th to July 18th.
Supporting the DC show, IHU has artists Oscar P (Open Bar Music), Kimozaki (XM Satellite Radio) and Cortega (Electrafrique). The Durban-born DJ and producer has been on the music scene for over a decade, but it was Black Coffee's 2007 record "Even Though" that put him on the international map. In January 2009 he released "Turn Me On", which received massive response and quickly went straight to #1 on the largest Soulful House Digital site in the country,Traxsource .com, and the #1 hits have been coming ever since, with singles like "Garden of Eden", "Juju", "Crazy" and of course, his immense world-wide smash hit "Superman". In the past year, Black Coffee has won two South African Music Awards for Best Male Artist and Best Urban Dance Album, and he was also recently named GQ "Man Of The Year" in South Africa for his achievements in music and for the work he is doing through his Foundation.
