Hi Friends,
Hope you?ve had a good February. Sorry for the long-winded post, but there?s a lot to cover this month.
This coming Tuesday marks the 4th installment of PURR on Proton Radio. We are VERY excited to bring you, not one, but TWO DJs, each with his own mix, as our guests this month, my friends Bill Patrick and Dennis Rodgers from NYC. Together, with partners Matt Licatta and Tom Amoroso, they form the infamous 112 Crew, playing parties in New York as residents for MADE Events. Alone, they stand steady-footed, poised to take over the music world, each with his own truly individual signature sound.
In 2004, Bill & Dennis joined forces with friend and fellow dj Nick AC, to form ROBOTS, a weekly collaboration, bringing minimal house, techno, and electro to the NYC underground at Caf? Deville every Friday. Quickly gaining some serious credibility for hosting guests like Three, Jeff Samuel, Magda and the Run Stop Restore crew, Hisham Samawi, Tony Rohr, 214, Jake Fairley, and others, Robots is now widely recognized as the second best weekly party on the East Coast next to TABOO in Charlotte. With this distinction carrying them forward as inspiration, the group now turns to Winter Music Conference 2005, where they will be hosting one of the most anticipated parties of conference this year, ROBOTS w/ guest SVEN VATH. ***Since the announcement, I have personally decided to turn down all offers to play at conference this year, so that I may be well-rested and show support for this event. You should come and hang out, although I?ll probably be hanging in the booth most of the night.***
On this week?s show, I?ll be jumping in first with a live set, recently recorded from my monthly residency at Tutto Mondo, here in Charlotte. It?s an hour long, taken from about the middle of the night.

Dennis rolls next with another live set, recorded on April 24th, 2004, during ARC?s closing party in NYC. Although this mix was recorded almost a year ago, it is absolutely timeless and has never been distributed! This is the first hour of that famed night, and therefore SUPER CHILL! It?s a perfect example of why ARC and MADE Events placed so much faith in these guys to start things off for their now legendary shows. Unfortunately, we do not have a track list or commentary for this mix from Dennis, because, as many of you probably already know, he is somewhat of an enigma, rarely speaking or showing his face in public. I understand from Bill, who speaks enough for both of them, that Dennis is learning to speak robot, so that he can better communicate with ?Rich?, when he comes to visit him at the apartment.

When I requested a commentary on the mix, Bill sent me probably the lamest excuse for a write-up known to man. Calling a spade a spade, I quickly called him out and this is what unfolded...

hi proton fans...i wanted to take a minute and thank you, proton radio and mr. pappanastos for airing my mix. It was done on a cold sunday morning/afternoon here in New York at an afterparty. I was on the decks. I decided to record. This is the result. If you like it, thats great. If you don't, thats great. All I know is that it sounded awesome when I was playing and all the people at the afterparty were really into it.

Soooooo, that about sums it up for this month. Honestly, I would write more about how well the TABOO nights are going, with Three last weekend and guests Doc Martin, Lee Burridge, and Danny Howells all coming in March & April, but I don?t want to rub it in to ?you-know-who?.
