      still a bummer. was i guy that i would label as my "hero", not because of the drug use, but because his words rang for miles. perfect execution of the language and a master of mental images.

        Cant believe he is gone, going to miss his ESPN columns for sure, thanks for Fear and Loathing in LV. YOu will be missed! RIP!!

            i dont think he ever wrote something about dealing with medical problems, which i have seen a few places as the reason why he commited suicide.. unable to walk at times, had to use a wheelchair, etc... so no

                  I'd been reading his ESPN column since I found out about it a year or so ago simply cause I loved him that much as an author. It was funny and insightful...when not just covering football spreads. I'd noticed in December he seem to stop writing (I guess until this recent Feb 15 column) and was wondering what had happened. Very sad news indeed. He will truly be missed :cry:
