        04. Tom Hades - Come On [Bedrock Records | Bedstructcd2Vin2]

        Release Notes :

        01. Martin Buttrich - Rocket [Desolat | Promo]

Martin Buttrich returns to Desolat, the label he founded with Loco Dice. Buttrich is a producer that defies genres - equally at home in Berlin or Detroit, with his music loved and played by by the minimal, tech house and progressive crews Martin appears on iconic labels from Planet E to Cocoon and from Poker Flat to Bedrock, whether it's composing originals like Stoned Autopilot or one of a relentless stream of HQ remixes like 'Dolphin Smack' for Ovum.

[Martin Buttrich] is something of a mystery. Quiet and unassuming in real life, Buttrich is the quintessential silent studio partner. Or at least he used to be. In collaboration, he’s produced pop (The Sugarbabes), Italo house (Sounds of Life) and progressive (over one hundred collaborations with Timo Maas). He’s even been nominated for a Grammy (remixing Tori Amos ‘Don't Make Me Come to Vegas’). But it wasn’t until 2006 that Buttrich came to prominence under his own name, releasing 12”s on Four:Twenty, Poker Flat and Carl Craig‘s Planet-E (‘Full Clip’). Buttrich still collaborates, chiefly working behind the studio desk for Loco Dice. Martin Buttrich runs Time Tools studio in Hannover, Germany but is currently based in New York

[Desolat] Not so long ago two great friends left the country where they lived and moved to Brooklyn, NY. There they re-builded their studio, produced new tracks far away from day-in day-out madness of the life they left behind for a while. In this creative and intimate isolation the idea of the label came up – just like the next step to be taken in their intense relation. In July 2007 this idea became reality when Desolat was born. Desolat is now a Düsseldorf-based label founded by Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich.

        Pulse Radio Interview (Excerpt)

What do you have coming up for the next year?

Right now I have an EP coming out on Desolat with ten tracks. Five are going to come out on vinyl and those who buy the vinyl can go to Beatport to download the other five. Basically only those who buy the vinyl are able to get the other tracks. It’s just a little support to the guys who always support vinyl. It's part of our whole movement.

        02. Adam Port feat. Ruede Hagelstein - Corrosive Love [Keinemusik | KM009]

Adam Ports last solo release to Keinemusik (Translation 'No Music') had the headline "Chemistry ". His new release seems almost a substantive model for the author with a penchant for revealing chemical processes.

"Corrosive Love" is this piece, that does not stop too long with his research interests behind the mountain. If there is a love called caustic, then it is above all the affection for classic Acid sounds, which is stressed as heard never before on a Port release.

Nevertheless, this piece is not a trivial nostalgia exercise, but rather it is a work-up of influences, which finds its way into the modern and this time the deliberately restrained trademark Port sound on each of his productions is distinctive. The track develops through subtlety, both in construction and in choosing the furnishings. These are of course sung by the Rue de Hagelstein

The vocal tracks are not only striking, the cool soul, which he carries in his voice, he makes the best motto for this track. The repetitive pattern AcidLine grows slowly until the floor break and recovery expectations are heightened to almost immeasurable, but avoids move to alienation. Port has published perhaps the most distinctive track from him so far.

        Review (Disobelle)

Berlin producer Adam Port has grown to be one of our favorites here at Discobelle, “Corrosive Love” is his most recent release on the Keinemusik label and it’s bittersweet techno track with vocals from fellow producer Ruede Hagelstein that rides the acid line for almost 9 minutes of pure joy.

Astonishing unexpected side - darker, but not less efficiently stealthy than his other productions. Original track is constantly pushing, moving closer into frenzyand shoulb be considered as a weapon. Though Alex Dolby & Santos put a similar effect in this on their remix it is a totally different approach. In the end it is a mad Corrosive Love and Ruede is the word!

        03. Thodoris Triantafillou & CJ Jeff vs. Baboop - Bottle U (King Unique Bootleg) [unreleased]

King Unique is Matt Thomas, an all round studio junkie and dj with a taste for tripped-out cosmic techno and rough-edged underground house; in a career spanning nearly a decade KU’s distinctive sound has won an enviable global following. He also went by an alter-ego called 'Mainframe' releasing some real progressive gems on on Junior/Futureshock off-shoot label Fuju.

Mainframe was a short-lived solo project I was doing around 2001/2002, a way for me to make some proggier stuff rather than the dark dubby house we were doing with KU at the time. Mainframe lasted for

Bottle U is an example of a great track that will never get released because of licencing issues caused by the warped musical alchemy of KU who came up with the Dr Frankenstein inspired idea to combine two tracks involving a range of artists from two different labels:

Baboop - Bottle (Luis Junior Remix) [Silence Through Music | STM015]
Thodoris Triantafillou & CJ Jeff - Not Only U Feat. Chris Tatchell [Rhythmetic Records | 018 Rhythmetic]

Matt describes the result as a "Cheeky bootleg I put together for KU Broadcast 18 - 'Not Only U' is a gem & then Luis Junior's remix of 'Bottle' brings the motor. Surfing on the back of geniuses - as usual. You can buy the original tracks & recreate it yourself "

        04. Midnight Ramblers - Scarab [Bedrock Records | Bedstructcd2Vin1]

CD3 “Being head of A&R at Bedrock Records I’m privileged to get sent so much music on
a weekly basis. With this 3rd disc I wanted to showcase the sound of Bedrock in 2011 with these full-length, DJ-friendly, club versions in an unmixed format.” – John Digweed

2011 is already proving to be a fantastic year for music and a great year for the ever-impressive Bedrock Records. For CD3 of Structures Two John Digweed has selected ten brand new, unreleased, exclusive tracks and remixes that showcase the diverse and ever-developing sound of Bedrock, presented in an unmixed DJ-friendly format.

High-ranking established artists are always kept firmly on their toes by the new upcoming stars of the future and Structures 2 has not finished yet as it highlights newcomers, Midnight Ramblers, first ever release. The wonky deep-tech beats of Scarab, displays a refreshing, decidedly dub attitude, with snippets of saxophone and vocals.

        05. Raxon - Into The Summer [unsigned]

Into The Summer isn't signed to a label yet - but with such a good track and support from the likes of Hernán it's only a matter of time. So her's Raxon's Bio in the meantime.

At the turn of the millennium was when Ahmed Raxon found electronic music and since then has never looked back. Born and raised in Abu Dhabi and of Egyptian decent, Raxon later moved to Dubai to attend university, which is where he began DJing in 2005. His keen ear for blending genres of deep, house, progressive and tech house started to get noticed at countless house parties which later lead to gigs in some of the Dubai’s best night clubs. He later joined forces with the Audio Tonic crew at 360 (one of the top 100 best night clubs in the world as rated by the DJ Mag poll). He has quickly become one of the night’s residents proving he knows what the crowd wants to hear and when they want it here it. His track selection always ignites the fire on the dance floor leaving people wanting more, so week after week people return to 360 to hear more. Having played some of the best parties in the region, including Creamfield’s Abu Dhabi in 2009 and 2010, he has been able to share the decks and play alongside some of the industry’s best DJ’s including John Digweed, Funk D’Void, SOS, Jimpster, Luke Fair, Alex Dolby, Spirit Catcher and Jody Wisternoff to name a few.

Immersing himself even further in the music, Raxon began producing and remixing in 2007. Realizing that it’s a totally different science from DJing he has spent countless hours in his studio learning what sounds work ‘at the end of the day, music is just a bunch of sounds that trigger certain feelings in your brain, or at least that’s how I like to think of it.’ Being able to get those sounds mixed like a delicious cocktail has allowed him to have remixes and originals on some of the hottest international labels such as Baroque, Audio Therapy, Plastic City, Sick Watona, Night Drive Music, Witty Tunes and most recently Discoteca Music. His fan base is continually growing as both a producer and DJ, which was evident by his recent ranking as lucky number 7 in DJ Mag Middle East’s poll for best DJ of 2010.

        06. Chris Fortier - Round Turn Life [Fade Records | FD91]

Fade Records was created by American DJ Chris Fortier is an underground dance music record label that has been releasing quality music since 1994. Aside from being a platform for its founders productions, Fade has a mission to discover, release and distribute amazing underground music created by talented underground artists from around the world.

Under his 40oz production guise Chris has released the several EPs and remixes that musically spreads comfortably across labels such as Bedrock, Wave Music, Cocoon, Kompakt or Get Physical. Recent remixes of Jim Rivers, Pfirter, Alexi Delano, Adultnapper, Derek Marin, Alland Byallo and John Selway, show Chris’ genre defying sound at it’s underground best. Not satisfied with status quo,, Chris looks for the boundaries to continue to be pressed and pushed with each coming musical excursion.

Its great to see both Chris and Fade ramp up their activity.

        07. Giorgos Gatzigristos - Natural Selection [Outside The Box Music | OTB054]

No release info, so here's the background on the label and porducer involved.

Outside the Box Music was launched in 2006 and is the creative outlet of Dutchman Eelke Kleijn. Besides being a home base for his own productions, Outside the Box Music aims to release quality music from upcoming as well as established producers. In terms of music the label is as diverse as its name suggests, many releases not being easy to pigeonhole into a certain style but instead cross the conventional borders between them.

Giorgos Gatzigristos was born in 1979 and lives in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, all his life. As a child he got enthralled by the analogue sounds of Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre, which his father sort of pushed on him. Their sounds and compositions got him interested in the way these artists created their music and the vision they had about electronic music in general. A computer and a life changing experience in the famous Dutch club; Doornroosje, got him into producing electronic dance music. First he used hardware based equipment but now he can put more energy in his music using a fully digital, sample free production environment.

Today, there are endless possibilities with the power of computers, yet all off these possibilities are useless without proper control. Indeed, it is important to control, but it should never be your goal to control, only because you can. You should control because you have to. Giorgos tries to put many influences in his music always building on older influences and yet, always trying to walk new paths. All his music is created in a spontaneous way; never does he submits himself to the patterns of being fashionable. When starting on the construction of a music piece, he never thinks to much about what it should become because, in thinking about the pieces destination, you are already limiting yourself in how to reach that destination.

On June the 2nd of 2004, Giorgos first record was released on the Dutch label of Darko Esser and Ger Laning (DJ LL): Wolfskuil Records. It was a split release with his mate, Piet van Dongen, and was the first step in producing music for the public. In the meantime, Giorgos has released three EPs on Kompakt's K2 Records and did a very personal split EP on Manual Music - home of his current agency. After more release on Channels Records and Wolfskuil Records, he started doing his first remixes for labels. He got his Master of Science degree in Organizational Science in 2008 but is still heavily active in music and releases on Bedrock, Manual Music, Kompakt and Wolfskuil Records. He also performs for some time now as a DJ and, since last year, Giorgos is also performing as a Live PA.

        08. Tom Hades - Come On [Bedrock Records | Bedstructcd2Vin2]

It's back to Structures 2 and CD3 which is rammed full of the great productions that John Digweed has throroughly road-tested across the planet - there is also a limited edition individual or triple vinyl packages.

By the time the heavy kick and swirling atmospherics of Come On by sometime Marco Bailey collaborator Tom Hades arrives, there can be no denying that the talent on display on Structures 2 is both exceptional and more varied than some would give the Bedrock label credit for.
        sigpicSimonR

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
