75% earphones (either buds or cans)
25% car driving home from work.

Can't listen to a cd on the way to work, only on the way home though.

Get some real nice sound isolating ones, they are amazing. I have my sound on the lowest volume and it is still crystal clear and nearly all the ambient noise is gone. Super protected hearing for the wins.

              simply listening. abstraction. absorbing sounds.

with various devices and in all kinds of ways; without degrading the formlessness of music, i refrain from belittinging it like everyone and their mom does, nowadays.

ie. "wickedness!" awwwwwwwwwwww yeaahhh mate soooooo fucking filthy" "nasty chooonn" pure darkness" epic!" "massive`!11!11!" and so forth

I also quite enjoy commuting or walking because it gives me uninterrupted time for music.

I listen to a lot off my laptop ... until it gets placed onto my i-pod any played through my hifi.

                    So I will probably go for some B & W : MM-1's.

in my head. i've transcended the use of music. it's spinning in my head alll the time.

haha but really, 85% in my car with my fat system, with windows down... ALL THE TIME. 10% on home computer with sound system or headphones - usually while making a mix in a DAW. 5% at parties or walking the street with earbuds in etc.

I actually miss this a lot. I used to ride the subway and buses constantly before I had to get a car, and I loved the opportunity to listen to music without any interruptions to and from my work. Listening to it in the car isn't quite the same (also because I don't have a jack to plug my iPod into on my car - it's a wee bit old).
