Grill (parody of the movie "Groove")

A friend and I were going to watch the DVD of THX 1138 which he borrowed from another friend. Problem is, his friend gave him the bonus disc and not the one with the actually movie. Since there was nothing else to do or watch, we broke out a copy of "Groove." I hadn't seen it in a while, it was fun.

Anyway, it made me remember there was an online parody of the movie called "Grill." Instead of a rave, it was about a backyard barbecue with cooks instead of DJs (Chef Digmeat ) Does anyone know a site that still hosts this?

My friend made that movie Groove. All of us friends were extras in it. My husband has a track in it too. funny. We had a blast making that, what a treat to have a private dj session with John Digweed too.
We took it up to Sundance too, it was the first film sold that year.

        ahhh fleeting youth

        Grill was GREAT!

Hey i keep running into to you!

Shit its been a very long time since I've watched that movie honestly I OD'd on it I've seen so many versions of it and saw it every night at Sundance. Anyhow...
The song is playing during scene between a tall skinny candy raver at the actually party. Unless u own the movie, which I don't, you won't be likely to find it. It also plays again during the credits.

We STILL gets royality checks from that song. Its fun to see where in the world its playing. Right now its playing in South Africa.

I'm going to try to hunt down a DVD of the movie for nostalgic reasons, its not a great movie but its fun and it captures a time in my life well. .... parties, The End, all sorts of stuff....

yeah, sorry its been a long time... 5.5 years.

There are more songs than that on the movie, those are songs on the soundtrack.
The song is by Greg Sankovich and Jeff McGann. It might be called Delta One... I'll have to dig thru our DATs to find the name.

Burn me a copy of the DVD and I'd be happy to tell you exactly where the song is. There arent many that repeat at the end in the credits so that might help a bit. It is not a house track its more on the breaky trance tip.

But that would be illegal. After all, you're the one still receiving royalty checks. Just hit up your local Best Buy and pick up out of the bargain bin.

Yeah I know you'll be happy to know I did go to BestBuy last night to buy and it and they don't have it. I'll hunt it down.
I did check the ASCAP records and the track is called Tech House. I already told u the producers. I'm hunting down the dat right now and then maybe I'll just send u a link to the mp3 after I convert it.

That'd be awesome, or just a clue as to a mm:ss time on the DVD of when the track is playing (if you ever stumble across the DVD). Ironic though that the track is titled "Tech House" but you compare it to "Breaky Trance". It's always nice to know someone who knows someone, etc (even though we really don't know you).

p.s. the royalities are only a few bucks, its just funny to get them. Lesson learned: whenever producing a track publish and author (with ASCAP) it if its going to be used in commercial or movie or tv. That way you get royalities for both. The checks come quarterly.

My husband probably wouldnt be too thrilled if he knew I was going thru his documents. ha ha.

I see here on the records the song plays for a whopin' 3:15 minutes total, so I supect its about 1.5 minutes in the movie sometime at that damned rave and then 1.5 minutes during the credits. our friends spesh & jondi have a track in there too. The classic track that I LOVE is 20 minutes of Disco Glory by Garth.

Its not a big deal anyhow, like someone said it wasnt' oscar worthy be any means. Its just a fun movie that closely resembles a party crew that I was involved in and stuff that happened to us.

crap I can't believe I'm posting again but I just found the contract for the movie and it states that the song is played during DJ Polywog's set/ Background Vocal and End Credits, 4 minutes.

so now let's see when Polywog is djing there must be a clip off to a skinny tall raver talking with someone... its playing then in the background and then again the credits.

now all that trouble and you'll be like ,.. "okay I barely hear it, I think
