    02. Andrade - Talk About [Poker Flat Digital | PFD11]

Andrade is the Paris based producer who‘s name is now well known amongst top DJs for his funky, post-minimal tech house grooves. The Parisian beat-maker comes on strong with 3 nu-acid killers in this hot EP for Poker Flat Digital.

‚Talk About‘ is a bass heavy floor rocker in the greatest sense of the phrase. Solid square wave bass and dirty synths fuse with funky electric bass in a modern game of galactic funk.

The old-school flavoured ‚Lies‘ pumps along with freaked out acid lines and cosmic pongs, as NYC funk meets Parisian basement vibes in a seriously trippy concoction!!

Finally the twisted tones of ‚All In‘ tie all these sounds together. Stomping beats are intertwined with dark vocal snippets and teasing synth elements as the vibe just builds and builds!

    04. Kollektiv Turmstrasse - Was Bleibt (Jimpster Vocal Remix) (Rebellion der Träumer - Remixes Part 1) [Connaisseur Recordings | cns0044-6]

Not many words are necessary for Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s last year’s album “Rebellion der Träumer”. Top ranking at the European sales charts, No 1 iTunes album charts and top ten of best album in 2010 in many polls of the year. The album is more than a collection of single tracks – its one oeuvre and became an instant classic. Now we are more than proud of to kick-off the remixes.

The a-side of part 1 features an interpretation of “Was Bleibt” by UK House gentleman Jimpster, who delivers a poppish and emotional deep-house bomb with a strong and driving bassline.

On the flipside “Heimat” is given a wonderful subbass-driven remix treatment by
Thuringia’s best Robag Wruhme, who proofs again his outstanding creativity and unique feeling for music….

    06. Martin Dawson - Onital (Jardim da Vida EP) [Session Deluxe Recordings | SDLX 034]

This time, Session Deluxe is presenting a really special release. It s a piece of fantastic depp and tech house tunes. A short view on the artists name is enough. Martin Dawson drops two musical artefacts which are perfect made for the spring and summer season. Dawson is basicly from Uk but is living in Berlin now. His releases on Cocoon, Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Off Recordings or Kling Klong are played and supporte by the who is who of the international deep house and tech house scene. He has also published his album Sunday Smoking on Mood Music in March 2011.

Martin's Jardim da Vida is very pumping and driving tech-house tune. It starts very straight and up forward and is creating a mood totally special. Especially the melody and the flute and whistle tunes are taking you on a trip to a party on the beach or somewhere under the sun.

Onital is the second track of Martin Dawson for that Ep. It's a very deep and percussive track. A massive and groovy bassline will let your feed moving. You will be hypnotized by this wicked house groove.

The remix of Jardim da vida is made by Namito. Actually he is very busy in the studio and has a big release output at the moment. An amazing release on Kling Klong at the beginning of 2011 or on his new own label Greenhorn Records. His remix is rolling with a big bassline and a stomping kickdrum. Altogether Namto's way is bit more techy, but also with a great groove. Definitley music for the dancefloor.

Great early feedback and support on the new Session Deluxe release, by: Butch, Hermanze, Tim Xavier, John Digweed, Gel Abril, Marcus Meinhardt, Tony Rohr, Phonogenic, Martin Eyerer and many more ...

Intended Release date June 2011 Vinyl & Digital July 2011

    07. Christian Smith - Fugitive (Cabeçudas EP) [Bedrock Records | Bed98]

Swedish genre-blurring techno master Christian Smith returns to John Digweed’s Bedrock label with another set of his trademark spellbinding productions. The big room vibes are most definitely flowing through these 3 choice cuts.

“Cabecudas” (located in Santa Catarina, Brazil, for all you fact fans) is a track that has all the percussion-fuelled funk you could want as it builds through layers of nagging synths to a glorious hands-in-the-air crescendo in true show-stopping style. This will be a highlight in many big-room DJ sets all summer long, without a doubt. For the Vox version Smith gives the track an old-school jackin’ Chicago twist, bringing the percussion to the forefront and adding a memorable vocal loop hook to the proceedings.

Meanwhile, “Fugitive” keeps the funk-factor high and focuses on a Latin percussive vibe that cannot fail to move even the most stubborn hips as it winds up the intensity with subtle ease before unleashing yet another superb hands-in-the-air moment. This is an EP you don’t want to miss out on.

Christian Smith has been at the top of his game as a DJ and producer for over a decade, but despite enjoying a global reputation as one of the most evergreen performers in his field, times have never been quite as good as they are right now. While his roots lie in techno, Christian has never been a purist, favouring instead to flavour the melodic, rhythmical music he loves with doses of funk or interspersing the raw energy of his sets with inspired moments of pure euphoria. His big-room, genre-blurring sound is very much suited to the Bedrock ethos of releasing the best quality electronic dance music that goes beyond fads and fashion as this brand new EP demonstrates.

With the momentum of his recent successful releases firmly behind him and with the strength of fresh inspiration driving his ambition forward, the “Cabecudas EP” from Christian Smith shows once again why he remains at the top of his game, maintaining his relevance and position at the very pinnacle of electronic music in 2011.

    Full Bio

'Ships that pass in the night' is the perfect cliché to sum up Lazersonic and Zak Frost's seeming inability over a decade-and-a-half to actually meet each other. Going to the same clubs, being part of the same scene and even sharing some of the same friends, the duo were seemingly destined to meet, but after 15 years of living parallel lives, perhaps that should read destined never to meet?

Yet in spite of their shared musical heritage, Zak Frost (yes, that's his real name) and Irfan's paths didn't fully cross until they were finally brought together at Scotland's T In The Park festival. And so contact was finally made and a creative partnership was sealed. Whether there was thunderclap or other ominous sign when this happened is unclear, but one thing is certain, the musical alchemy of Irfan and Zak's ideas was something amazing. This was evidenced immediately by their first joint effort, 'Aquaplane', the arpeggiated, richly warm arm-raiser that was snapped up by no less than Tiga's Turbo Recordings and has been giving goosebumps to everyone within earshot ever since its release in 2009.

A comment from Tiga that it had "7am written all over it" was to shape the sound of Lazersonic & Zak Frost thereafter. The soothing of that all-night-dancing ache by the sun as it flickers its way over the horizon is captured perfectly in the warmth and depth of Zak and Irfan's sound.

While they share such a similar musical schooling and reference points ranging from Plastikman to Aphex Twin to Orbital, the duo's differences also add extra layers and influence to their sound. With Irfan's more urban grounding – his production credits include Riz MC and Busta Rhymes – and Zak's underground DJing background – which include running celebrated noughties London club night Nodisko – they both bring different elements to the table.

Dance music's long and rich history has proved that producing soulful machine-made music isn't an easy feat but time after time, release after release, Lazersonic & Zak Frost manage to achieve it. From the serotonin-soaked strains of 'Aquaplane' to the wide-open, bubbling analogue electronics of follow-up 'Thermionic'; from the trippy psychedelia of 'Levels' to their deep and dubby take on Bookashade's 'Regenerate'; Irfan and Zak successfully inject emotion, spirit and neck-hair-raising, floor-pleasing melodic hooks into each track.

This knack of creating a humanising warmth within a sonic environment that many other render sterile is maintained throughout debut album, 'Adventures In Stereo Vol. 1'. Quite how they manage this is a mystery, but it seems their passionate commitment to detail and love of imperfect analogue equipment and its quirks may offer at least a partial explanation.

The end result is an uncategorisable yet coherent and complete album that takes the listener through a variety of moods and emotions, with a finely struck balance between that 7am feel and the pull of the dancefloor. The fact that their sound doesn't fit comfortably into any pigeonholes was one of the deciding factors behind Zak and Irfan's decision to set up their own label, AIS Recordings, and release the album themselves.

The same care and attention displayed throughout the album also goes into Irfan and Zak's monthly 'Adventures In Stereo' radio show which goes out on FM and online radio stations in more than 20 countries.

With 'Adventures In Stereo Vol. 1' primed to follow the global success of their radio show and singles to date, one thing's for certain: Lazersonic & Zak Frost's 'adventures' are going to be well worth following. Watch this space.
