This is a mashup of Bamako's remix of 2008 minimal yet deep track 'Lila' Rodriguez Jr. which was turned into a lovely downtempo track as the digital-only flipside of Boxer Recordings Tuning#07 (the A-side featuring a Kollektiv Turmstrasse Remix) vs. an interview with electronic sound engineer Rupert Neve. Neve was a pioneer of analogue audio designs who produced his first mixing desk in 1961 - he also spent much of his early childhood in Argentina.

Astraway is a producer & DJ from St.Louis, MO. U.S.A. He has been making music since the late 90's.

Rupert Neve is an English electronics engineer and entrepreneur, who is particularly known as a designer of professional recording equipment. He is known for his work on microphone preamplifier, equalizers, and early large format mixing consoles. Many of his long discontinued products are considered classic equipment and are very highly sought after by the professionals in the recording industry. This has resulted in several companies releasing products that are Neve replicas or clones.

Neve is often credited as the man who made the recording console. He was the third person to receive a Lifetime Achievement Technical Grammy Award and became an inducted member of the Mix Hall of Fame in 1989. He was named man of the century by Studio Sound Magazine in 1999, and was selected by his peers as the number one audio personality of the 20th century.

04. Joel Armstrong - Silver Moon (Pig & Dan Remix) [Babylon Records | Promo]
Joel Armstrong's original Silver Moon EP {BAB009] was released in July 2006 with remixes from Derek Howell and Micah. Joel is a Vancouver Producer and owner of Dot Dot Records.
For 2011 Joel has produced a more updated version in line with his current sounds and tastes - the package, which includes a Pig & Dan remix (plus a few others), is out this Fall on the Mesmeric imprint emerging out of Babylon Records (also see track 5).
Pig & Dan were formed after a meeting of minds during a chance encounter of Igor Tchkotoua (Pig) and Dan Duncan on a flight to Spain in 1999. Recognising a mutual philosophy, and using their own musical background that dated back to the start of the dance scene, they combined to create a slick production outfit that would entrance clubbers and soon win compilation support from the likes of John Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, and Nic Fanciulli. Most significantly though, their tech tour de force ʻOh Yeahʼ (2005) signaled the start of their ongoing relationship with Cocoon Recordings, which has seen their status as DJs and producers soar on a global level.
The disturbingly dark ʻOh Yeahʼ has been followed by 8 more releases on the seminal Frankfurt imprint, including their own artist album, ʻImagineʼ. During this time, their profile as in-demand remixers has reached the point where such electronic pioneers as Underworld were coming back for more!
05. Ellez Marinni - Ez Style (Shiftone Remix) [Mesmeric Records | Promo]
Mesmeric Records is the brand Proton Music Group label from Dju, founder & ex manager of Babylon Records, based in Lyon (France). The label already has releases from Andre Sobata and remixes by Shiloh, Fiord, Cora Novoa and James Talk.
Russia's Arthur Abidzhba goes by the name of Shiftone (aka Arthur Deep) and has evolved over the last four yearson the modern progressive house scene, with acclaimed releases on Silk Music, Mango Alley, Proton Music and various top-charting originals and remixes on Beatport. Spieltape (from Resident 005) has laso remixed Shiftone's 'The Roots'.
Ellez 'EZ' Marinni is an emerging Odessa born Russia based trance DJ | Producer with plays from trance DJs Richard Durand and Kyau & Albert.

Frankfurt based DJ & producer Oliver Lieb has been in the premier league of electronic producers since the late 90’s and always keeps surprising and amazing people with his extraordinary sounds and diversity of styles. He views music as an endless horizon of expressing himself and refuses to be pigeonholed in one specific genre, an attitude well suited to the Bedrock ethos. His Bedrock debut, the mighty, soaring, ‘Parallax’, is already a highlight on John Digweed’s current ‘Structures Two’ album, and the ‘Epsilon Eridani EP’ is the next exceptional release to come from Bedrock.
‘Non Binary’ with its buzzing electronic pulse of a backbone and hissing hi-hats grasps your attention immediately as a series of weird and wonderful noises draw you into the depths of the track and towards a swirling breakdown, before launching back into a heightened hypnotic groove. Pure class! Very talented and popular Ukrainian producer Svatoslav Tvardovsky began his music career when his desire to create high quality, positive music became an obsession with connecting his passion for techno music with the people spending the weekend on the dance floors of his hometown of Kiev. His huge efforts did not go unnoticed and within a year his music was not only well known in the local clubs of Kiev but also many points abroad. His original tracks have remixed by established techno producers like Roman Gertz, Kim Kayden, Key900 and appeared on established labels such as Black Hole, Physical Gravity Recordings, Semantica Recordings, GetHigh Music, Sex Panda Records, Liquid Music, Entrainment Records, Moonbeam Digital, Highlands Music. All were happy to work with young, hungry producer. His diverse sound touches on techno, house, and progressive styles and at present he has created nearly twenty tracks and an equal amount of remixes, to which Tvardovsky says “this is only the beginning”. This is one artist worth watching!
In 2006, experienced Croatian DJ (Pacco) and musician (Rudy B) decided to work together. With so much time spent in performing and learning about music, they were ready to start making their own tracks. 2008. Jason Wohlstadter, Radio and Label Director of Proton, noticed the then still unfinished track "Space Walk". The release offer came shortly after. In the next 2 years they had over 60 tracks and 40 releases for different labels.
Hernán Cattáneo giving them the 'huge honor' by opening his set right after Danny Howells at Moonpark - Buenos Aires with Pacco & Rudy B - Coral Castle, best selling track of VA Summer Particles 2010, and charted no less than 5 times at various BeatPort charts).

Lars Sandberg AKA Funk D'Void, is a DJ and producer who has been at the forefront of the global electronic music scene since the mid-90s. He is probably best known for the end-of-nighter 'Diabla' which bridged house and techno (and was flogged by everyone from John Digweed to Danny Howells to Sven Vath) - Diabla also has a serious new remix package out for 2011.
Collaborations with such luminaries as Phil Kieran and more recently Sian have produced stellar results - further galvanising his diversity in the techno arena and has led us to the somewhat overdue arrival of his own personal label, Outpost.

Tronic continues its roll out of summer bombs with the ‘Origin’/’Freed’ two-tracker from Dosem, an artist who has previously made a name for himself with sterling output for Technasia sub-label SINO.
Girona-born Dosem (aka Marc Ramirez) has a reputation built on his ability to combine his love of techno, house and electro and create tracks which drawn on all three. Always futuristic in terms of sound design, Dosem’s output is always energetic and melodic – qualities which Tronic label-boss Christian Smith is more than engaged by.
‘Origin’ is the first of the two tracks and it opens proceedings with an epic, synth heavy vibe. Filtered, impeccably programmed drums gently unfurl into a persistently padding groove that kicks on a big system. As the track opens up to drop, metallic synth chords shimmer out of the groove and deliver a massive punch. The intensity grows continually throughout and the melodies are pushed to their maximum, making this an unashamed anthem.
The flipside’s ‘Freed’, while more ‘heads down’ than it’s counterpart, is certainly no shrinking violet. Driving drums are topped with long, building vocal screams and rising synths create a feverish atmosphere that, added to a pulsing and brutish bassline, goes off.sigpicSimonR

I love hearing people talk about sound. May be weird but I find it quite exciting 
I just watched a John OO Fleming video, he refers to himself as a geek for sound. If I was geek it would be for sound !!
