Jeff Mills has a new album due out in April called The Power.
Like many of Mills' full-lengths, The Power is a limited edition release that follows a somewhat obscure sci-fi theme. It follows in the same "saga" as his last two LPs, The Sleeper Wakes and The Occurrence, both of which explored themes of time, space travel and technology.
"Traveling four years throughout the Universe in search of discoveries has taken its mental toll and the price of an intervention is high," reads the press release. "This album demonstrates the process of a person who gradually loses their sense of belonging. Obscure illusions brought on by an unique ability to control Electricity contracted in The Occurrence chapter creates an unwarranted threat to the world's International Security. Severe detachments evolve that pushes the mind beyond acceptable limits."
So, there you have it. The Power will be released through Mills' own Axis Records. You can hear previews of the record here and here.
If you're in New York, you can catch Mills playing this Saturday with Basic NYC at District 36. Tickets to that party are available right here on RA. Meanwhile, Mills will also be presenting The Power in London with his usual party of choice in the capital, Lost. Tickets for that party are also available here.
