pardon me for my inablity to identify track ids and to put my musical emotions in word with any resemblence of organization. so i got back in to santa cruz at about 6:30 in the morning today, and im not really feeling too out of it today. ummmmmmmm that show fucking ruled, period. a solid 4 hour set, he started his set im preety sure mixing 4 beatless tracks on ableton live for about i would say 10 minutes, cuting one or the other in and out one by one untill he finally droped the beat, the crowd went nuts and i almost shit my pants, i have never heard anything like that before. as expected, crowded with many people on estacy, which if i was not in the middle of a school term would have not been against doing myself. As far as the music selction, he played a lot of tracks which most people would recognize from the toronto mix thats online from last year, that sasha & luke chable mix, and maybe a track from involver... i fucking dispise emo, and inde music for my own personal reason but about 30-45 mins before his set was over sasha laid in a remix of that song by the killers "mr. brightside"....when he laid that track in i had a smile on my face bigger then the entire club. all in all a beautiful evening which highlighted the simple pleasure of lissening to good music.
the ups: positive loving people buying me redbull vodkas, and water to keep me going, sneaking "back stage" for about 2 minutes to see sasha mix a track on is laptop, having enough room to dance and FINALLY seeing what sasha is about live.
the downs: trendy people, glow sticks, 6 or 7 dollar drinks, getting pushed away from this girl i though wanted to dance with me... sasha looking like he was bommbed out on coke and him ending his set on the apex of a fimiliar track and then truning the lights on, much like a stab in the heart.
but dont get me wrong, it was a great night, i met some awsome people, had fun with friends i dont see very often, and am so jade from what sasha music ment to me and my soul that i smile just thinking about it. i'll write more if i can think of anything else or shut up if people tell me to.
PEACE OUT,
Lrn
