Kinky in August with Thoneick , Sampson and more

    KINKY MALINKI
    PROUD 2
    Saturday 6th August

Hot on the heels of their July bash at Proud2, Kinky Malinki are back with yet another storming line-up. And, dare we say it, even better than the last one!

Their August shindig is the biggest and boldest yet – roping in some of the finest headliners ever to grace Kinky Malinki’s dancefloor and installing them onto one unique and memorable line-up.

They have Funkerman. They have Eddie Thoneick. They have Olav Basoski. They have Ridney. And They have Kid Massive. Massive? It’s absolutely ginormous!

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    FUNKERMAN
‘Speed Up’, ‘3 Minutes To Explain’ and ‘Wheels In Motion’ are all in the past. These days he’s destroyed us with the remixes of Technotronic, Robbie Rivera and Sharam Jey. His personal releases ‘Unconditional Love’ with Ida Corr, the ‘Brooklyn Bounce EP’ and his current monster ‘The Pressure Cooker’ are blowing up everywhere! The Dutch House Mafia are on fire at the moment!

    EDDIE THONEICK
The man responsible for making that golden uplifting house sound in the mid Noughties made irresistible music for the planet’s dancefloor. Last year Erick Morillo snapped him up to collaborate. They released ‘Nothing Better’. A few months down the line they released ‘Live Your Life’. Now, they’ve just released ‘Stronger’ together. This is their Summer and this is Eddie Thoneick’s time. Miss him at your peril.

    OLAV BASOSKI
If you’ve managed to keep up with his various monikers, you’ll know he’s a true house music legend. You’ll all remember ‘Waterman’. Or perhaps you old skool lovers will remember his mixes for Sil, JX, Kadoc, Duke, Reel 2 Real and Robin S? He’s even remixed the likes of Moby, Bob Marley, Lenny Kravitz and James Brown. His current single ‘New Day’ on Defected is one of the anthems of 2011.

    KID MASSIVE
Our revered resident is living up to his name by continuing to get more massive month-by-month. His current release (a collaboration with Peyton) is destroying festivals the world over and riding high in the club charts – even getting put right in the middle of Roger Sanchez’s Top 10 Beatport Chart. Not bad.

    RIDNEY
Another one of our residents has also been making waves. After being signed by Size for ‘Arrivals’, his career has gone from strength-to-strength. Defected signed his next smash ‘At Night’ and booked him to play at their events. His current releases ‘Good Shout’ (on Spinnin Records) and ‘One For Me’ (on Azuli – no less!) have rubber-stamped his place as one of the scene’s hottest producers and DJs.

Our mouths are watering right now. How about yours? Five of the juiciest headliners, one amazing venue, one unforgettable August evening.

Kinky Malinki at Proud2. It just gets better...
