Krush Present Live at Robert Johnson Special

    September 24
    Krush @ TBA, East London

    Robert Johnson night with…
    Ivan Smagghe
    Roman Fluegel
    Arto Mwambe live
    Ata
    Nikos
    + more

September 24th sees monthly party specialists Krush return to a venue off the beaten track (and yet to be announced) for a unique coming together with one of Germany’s foremost clubs, namely Robert Jonson in Offenbach, Frankfurt-Am-Main.

Named after a jazz legend, the 250 capacity club plays host to the finest DJs in the underground world each week. As well as being a respected club, Robert Jonson also has its own record label releasing its own mix series, four of which have come from the four headliners tonight.

First up is Ivan Smagghe, the Frenchman whose nicotine stained, raw electro and techno has won him legions of fans including Andy Weatherall whom he often plays legendary sets alongside. Having worked in Rough Trade Records in Paris, the man’s musical knowledge is unrivalled, always spinning leftfield sounds at the coolest clubs in the world. Productions have come as part of Black Strobe on labels like his own Set as well as Kompakt.

Roman Flugel is one of the biggest names in the German electronic music scene. Active since the early 1990's, Flugel is a chameleon visiting many styles from ambient/IDM to house, techno, electro and leftfield on Raum, Rekkids, Cocoon and many more. He either works solo or with long time partner Jorn Elling Wuttke (also co-founders of the Ongaku/Klang/Playhouse labels) and his latest project is a new full length album on quality house label Dial, following his impeccable How to Spread Lies EP last year.

Frankfurt-based duo Arto Mwambe, AKA Phillip Lauer and Christian Beisswenger are known for their light-hearted and often romantic style of house music. They have released five sunny 12-inches since their inception in 2005, all but one of which have seen release on Brontosaurus, have mixed it up for the LARJ series and play live on various bits of hardware for a truly stunning experience.

As well as tried and tested resident Krsh talent Nikos, the final star on this line-up will be the man who runs Robert Jonson, Ata. Also a DJ and producer and founder of the labels Playhouse, Klang, Ongaku, he has been spinning since the late 80s and its his pure musical values which have seen him steer Robert Jonson to the top of the pile of the last decade.. tonight will be something special, for sure…
