01. The Sushi Club - Dopia (Christian Burkhardt Remix) (Lunarium Remixes) [4MPO | 89611046]
From classical piano to Hip Hop and House Music – Tomio Tremmel’s work as an artist is as versatile as his musical influences. In 1998, Tomio Tremmel released his first album “Sushidelic” under the name of The Sushi Club on the Frankfurt record label Electrolux. His second record “Neo Sashimi” came out in 2001, showing significantly stronger electronic influences. The more melodic work “Sakura”, partly produced in collaboration with Japanese producer Toby Izui and singer Kaori Kaneko, completed the Sushi Club trilogy in 2003.
Besides musical and visual contributions to German TV shows such as Spacenight and Flowmotion, consisting solely of ambient and lounge music, he also produced the TV show Man vs. Machine with artist Naoki Kenji. The show was the first on German TV to deal with more club-oriented, up-tempo music and video art.
At the beginning of 2010, Tomio Tremmel decided to shift focus back to his personally most important project and returned to the studio at Unit Production, where he spent one year working on a new album. The outcome of this creative isolation and a return to his musical roots is the latest Sushi Club production “Lunarium”.
The style of this double CD is difficult to define: Deep House influences mix with electro- and trance beats, Spacenight sounds with acoustic instruments, and sample-bites from Japanese movies with digital effects – all morphing into a fascinating tapestry of sound. The end result is a multiple experience of creativity that rejects any attempt to apply conventional labels. With “Lunarium”, Tomio Tremmel has again demonstrated his gift for compositional complexity while staying true to his particular aspiration for the sheer quality of the music.
To launch his latest album Lunarium onto the club scene, Tomio Tremmel decided to back up the release of his CD with a remix vinyl.
A joint venture with the Mannheim label Oslo Records and their artists Johnny D, Ray Okpara, Nekes, Christian Burkhardt, Roberto Amormino, Federico Molinari, and Makoto (Nekes and Tomio Tremmel's new project) resulted in a double vinyl, containing a choice selection of party hits as well as some deeper and more wayward house-tracks.

Neurotraxx - NXD062
Aki Bergen’s Neurotraxx label returns with a superb new single from Russian duo Moonbeam featuring a host of quality remixes from the underground… Moonbeam is the duo of Russian brothers Pavel & Vitaliy Khvaleyev, a pair who in a short space of time have become a solid fixture on the world dance music scene. Crashing into DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s poll in the recent years and releasing a string of quality records through labels such as Traum Schallplatten they have established themselves as a name to watch for big room techno and atmospheric house.
For their latest single Moonbeam have delivered a wonderful slice of brooding melodic house with an emotive vocal performance from Pryce Oliver The release kicks off with the original and radio mixes that make use of lo-fi Fx, warm key chords and laid back drum programming to create a perfect bed for the superb vocals.
The first of the remixes is delivered by Diynamic man H.O.S.H. who strips things out and provides a wonderfully spacious house cut with a bumpin B line and key melodic elements, quality stuff.
Next up we have house music veterans Hector Romero and Davidson Ospina who provide both a vocal and dub version of their interpretation. Their mixes are groove laden, with an emphasis on solid drums and percussion and subtle melodies, quality productions as you would expect from this pair.
The penultimate mix comes from the duo of Shades of Gray who take things a little deeper with a dubby house mix that uses tight vocal edits and looped refrains to create a superb groove.
Finally we have Ismael Rivas who delivers a floorfilling chugging house cut that is certain to set floors alight wherever it is dropped. This is without a doubt a superb song from a production duo that are not to be ignored and with a set of mixes such as those on offer this is certain to be make a real impact this summer…

05. UNKLE - Rabbit In Your Headlight (King Unique Remix) [Mo Wax | Promo]
The second of two official remixes King Unique for just completed for the new UNKLE Sounds live project, this one features the vocals by Radiohead's Thom Yorke
"Organic, wonky, intimate, epic, electronic, stadium-vocal thing - good luck with the genre on this one Beatport" [King Unique]
History on the track :
While Radiohead was in San Francisco for their OK Computer tour in 1997, Thom went in to the studio with DJ Shadow and co-wrote and recorded 'Rabbit in Your Headlights' for James Lavelle's UNKLE album, Psyence Fiction. This recording is a collaboration between Thom Yorke [lyrics and vocals] , James Lavelle and DJ Shadow for the U.N.K.L.E. - project. Thom Yorke recorded his contribution before the success of OK Computer.
Lavelle said: "I've always wanted to bring together the different types of music that I've grown up on, to intertwine them to create something that people my age can get into." The song, which was recorded in San Francisco. James Lavelle is also an established artist in his own right, remixing some of the finest records around including Radiohead's Planet Telex. In his capacity as a DJ, James played support on both the Verve and Radiohead's 1997 UK tours. Meanwhile his U.N.K.L.E collaborator DJ Shadow played a live set of his own tracks as the main support to Radiohead on the same tour. The song is bone-chilling good and has an awesome video directed by Jonathan Glazer (Karma Police, Street Spirit).
This track is very... very eerie, but there's definitely something there. Something powerful. It's mainly piano driven, but lots of DJ type skillz I'm sure have gone into it too. There were 6 mixes available on the UK single released in 1998 on Lavelle's Mo Wax [MW 103] and re-released on Island Records in 2006.
Here we go, with the next release on levelNONzero: Martin Woerner is joining the family and brings us a classic, strong techno track. Pascal Feos & Frank Leicher sticked together for their own interpretation of this tune, on the flip.
Released 26th September Tom Glass - Naive with mixes from Nick Warren and Dosem : check out the video below filmed live at The Rabbit Hole Glastonbury Festival 2011
