    Production Arrangments

Anybody have good tips for creating a good arrangement? I know it's hard to give advice on something that's largely artistic, but do you guys have any good methods from moving from song ideas to a proper track? I feel like I often create pretty decent 8 or 16 bar loops with lots of good stuff going on, but when I try to spread it out into a full track, I feel like I lose steam.

    Thanks guys!

    thatīs the hard part! hahahahahahah
I think I stuck in the same place when I work with music. I like to tell a story with sounds. Not just "here this comes in, and that one goes out". Try working with each sound at a time. i.e. take one sound/sequence and work it until you take everything it can give,,, try different eq, filters, effects you can add, distortion, modulation.... that will give you an idea of how the track could grow up. Something important: focus in what is good for the song. Sometimes the sounds you like more, donīt fit in with the rest.
Nice thread btw, Iīd like to learn too!

      Nice thread, bro!
When we start working the track in a loop (like in Ableton), you put everything together and sounds great! But making the full track always goes hard.

One thing I've tried is to solo some instruments and work it out. I like to start the track with some groove made by one melodic or harmonic instrument. Listen to the tracks you like and see how they start.
Once you made it, there's two simple ways to think. 1: listening, you feel what should occurs next. 2: how could you get in that part from where you are. Can you understand it? My english is far the best.

Then you think what automations you could make, like "opening" the filter or increasing the volume. But I do the arrangements first just thinking, the automations I do just in the mixing process.

I'd like to learn more about that too.

      Thanks for the thread
