Finally got a chance to catch this, and what a wonderful film. Just spectacularly played by everyone, the cast really did hold this novel adoption to its fullest. Such a simple story but with the complexities of families and the involvement of money turns it into a plot for disaster.
As usual the jewel that is Geoffrey Rush plays another masterpiece.
If you get the chance, don't let this one slip by.

thanks. added to the watch list. rush and rampling are both fanstastic, except for the part where i saw some rampling, uh, yeah you know.

It's not all that bad.
But I do think Rampling is the star of the show here.
Such class shown in the most subtle of ways.
