Hotel Rwanda / Sometimes In April

Best movie I have seen in a while.
    Great emotional powerhouse.
Great acting, great picture, has one of the most powefull moments in history, african children chants guiding the scene when the white people leave with busses and the blacks -abandoned by the world- just watch their own death.
    Great cinema.
    Anyone elkse seen it?

cheadle has an interesting article in the Wall Street journal this past Thursday about DarFur, worth a read.

It's amazing that this was based on a true story. I was blown away by the acting job by Cheadle, glad he got an Oscar nom for his work. The creepest scene for me was when in the fog he's driving back to the hotel after a food run, and it appears he's driving over a "rocky" road.

                    Very good movie.

Very sad also, hard to believe all of that was going on and yet you heard hardly a peep about it out here in the States.

Absolutely riveting film. Cheadle put on a flawless performance as did Sophie Okenedo. A definitely must-see.

There is actually a better movie out there about the Rwandan Civil war. I couldn't tell you for the life of me what it's called, possibly Sometimes in April but it was made before Hotel Rwanda, features no big names and goes into a lot more detail of the conflict including all the attrocities. I have seen it twice on PBS so keep your eyes open for it if you liked the Hollywood version

Gorgeous movie...sad reality though...It was for an Oscar Award in my opinion.
