    Martin Dawson (Cocoon/Crosstown Rebels/Get Physical)

With the arrival of 2011 Martin Dawson can reflect back on the past few months and definitely feel satisfied. Having just started to release tracks under his own name at the beginning of 2010 – in just 12 months he has had some very successful releases and worked with some of the best labels in underground house including Cocoon, Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, 2020vision, Off recordings and Moodmusic. The move to work under his own name came off the back of a very fruitful career working under his alternative guise – King Roc – for which he released his debut album in 2009 to critical acclaim from the international dance music press including album of the month in DJ Mag and 10/10 by IDJ Mag. He was nominated by DJ Mag for best UK producer and best artist album 2009 along the likes of Jamie Jones and Skream. Also well known for his work as Two Armadillos with studio partner and good friend Giles Smith (secretsundaze), Martin is a producer that has the ability to steps out of the box of just one genre and can turn his talent to anything that takes his fancy... but with a deep rooted love of house this is where you will find most of his work residing.

Martin will be the first to say he loves working in the studio but his passion for DJ and performing can not be questioned with an international career that has seen him playing all around the world from West and Eastern Europe to South American, Australia and most of Asia, right to the deepest parts of Russia. Support for his production in whatever alter ego also has his music being aired around the globe by some of best DJ's in the world including Laurent Garnier, Tiefschwarz, Radioslave, D'Julz, Solomon, Nick Curly and Luciano to name a few.

His studio schedule in 2010 has had him working with the likes of Glimpse, Andre Crom and Catz 'n Dogz and of course his continuing relationship with Giles for Two Armadillos. The result of all of this work will really be seen in the early part of 2011 including a solo LP 'Sunday Smoking' on Moodmusic, the eagerly awaited debut Two Armadillos album and a number of collaborations.

    Rekreation (1Trax/Witty Tunes)

Rekreation are the young DJ & Production duo formed from the backdrop of Manchester’s underground house music scene, comprising of James Hill & Ben Morling, who form a unique style weaving through all levels of house, laced with deep grooves.
Since December 2009 an evergrowing discography has formed for this pair, working closely with OD Muzique's very own Disco Electronica Recordings, Hector Couto & Roberto Palmero's Pura Music and Gabriel D'ors Selected Records along the way plus many more in between, each seeing success all around the globe. Even more so, in late 2010 following a number of successful releases, Access to Music nominated the boys as top 3 best producers in the UK, which was a great achievement for the year.

As well as studio work, Rekreation have also been keeping busy on the DJ circuit with numerous dates all around the UK and continue to bring their trademark deep and soulful sets to their hometown of Manchester on a regular basis including the much loved Disco Electronica party monthly at Sankeys & Lights Down at Avici White, billed alongside names such as Nic Fanciulli, David K, Moodymanc, Monoman & Dzeta & Basile.

2011 has got off to a good start with remixes out on DE recordings alongside the likes of Reset Robot, OD Muzique, David K and Zoo Brazil, a remix for Hector Couto out on Nulogic records and collaboration projects with Submantra and Huxley on the cards for the near future. In addition the boys latest EP 'Along those lines' on Selected Records hit the top charts and achieved featured release on Beatport, so keep an eye out for this very much active duo over the next few months.
