The elusive second album, book, film, or work of art? It is fair to say that after initial early success it is always difficult to beat or emulate right? Well we don’t like rules and after the success of our launch party in June, deep’art are back with our second Showcase.
We have two very special guests on board in the form of Alexis Raphael, the co-founder of Sunday party Crèche, and not to mention one of latest Hot Creations sensations. As well as Playset, the very talented duo from the You Are We collective.
The venue is also spot on. We have secured the increasingly popular Basing House, Dalston, which boasts a very unique décor and most importantly a Funktion One sound system. This venue has played host to a number of parties this year with Djs such as Inexc, Burnski, Italoboyz, And.Id, and Geddes to name but a few.

Alexis Raphael (Hot Creations / Lower East)
Alexis hails from Camden, North London, where has spent his life immersed in underground dance music. Rising through the ranks from pirate radio DJ, in his teens, to having played most of the major clubs in London over the past few years, 2011 is the year that has seen him take things a step further and put his hand to production.
Spaceship, Alexis’ first track, was quickly signed up by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss to their new Hot Waves label and hit the deep house top 10 on Beatport , gaining him wide acclaim. His glass-eyed voyage through ‘a neon painted universe’ gave our first glimpse into his ability to produce pieces of music with a real sense of individuality and style. He surely couldn’t follow it up could he? He certainly did with the massive ‘Kitchens and Bedrooms’, which came out in July packaged with mixes from Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed, Sam Russo, as well as his own deeper ‘Sunset’ mix.
There is no stopping this talent as Alexis is set to release a Hot Creations EP, something that only a handful of artists have had the opportunity to do and with so little relative experience in the studio it’s clear that the music he is producing is making waves with the right people very fast.
Playset (You Are We)
Formed by Tom Roberts and Ashley Wild this duo are a well known force who bring a unique blend of House and Disco to their sets. Best known for their ties with the excellent party You Are We, which has established itself as one of London’s best events in only two short years, Playset are going from strength to strength. They know their way around the studio just as well as the decks and forth coming releases from these guys are eagerly anticipated.
deep'art (Residents)
Hosting this party is DJ duo deep'art (Revell & Chris Ware). They are as passionate about being behind the decks as in front of them, and it is for this reason they understand the ingredients to set the dance floor alight. The summer has seen them busy immersing themselves in the scene and gig’ing however, their focus is back to putting on another Showcase. Be sure to catch these guys opening the night and set the tone for the evening.
