Mix & Interview I did for Free Ends in Russia http://freeends.promodj.ru/mixes/274...ik_Norway.html
English:
Alright, I started djing about 10 years ago, I felt like I was finding alot of hot music that I never heard anyone play out in Oslo, so I thought I could give it a go. That is still the reason that I play, I am plowing through about 16.000 records a week, maybe even more, to find those special bits. Hard work, but I get alot of great music out of it. I became friends with Desyn in around 2003 I think, after I was introduced by my friend Rollo from Israel, they thought me how the hunting spirit for records, they were plowing through everything, and they had the sickest tunes. In December 2004 I think, my mate and I booked Desyn for a gig in Oslo at a really small club, it was a blizzard outside, but people came out anyway, and it was an amazing night. After that at some point Desyn asked me if I wanted to be A & R for his recordlabel Alternative Route alongside my mate Tom Morgan. A year or 2 after that my friends and I formed the recordlabel Discoteca Music which we are still running. My influences over the years have been my friends Desyn Masiello, Rowan Blades, Tom Morgan and my favourite dj Danny Howells always plays such wicked sets, from deep house to techno. I started following Joris Voorn around 2004 and he is also such an amazing talent, his Incident track is still beeing playd alot by me . I prefer to do long sets, which I used to do at a regular night I did in Oslo, but not anymore, the club got new owners and turned it into a shitty place, so I stopped playing there.
About 2 years ago Desyn asked me to be a part of a new project he was planning, called Faciendo. Which we just launched, and a website will hopefully be up in a few months. Faciendo are a tribe of "musical shamans" and "mix scientists" (Desyn Masiello, Tom Morgan, Dory, Rowan Blades/Rowdent & add2basket), working together to inspire, educate and spread love through the air waves. The group's primary focus is a series of mix compilation CDs, crossing many genres of electronic music, but each with the same goal: to represent the true "art" of a DJ mix.
Alongside this, Faciendo Radio, their bi-weekly show, serves as a platform to showcase their mixing ethos with the latest sounds around the world, and also give the listener a glance into the past from the group’s musical history of timeless gems and forgotten classics.
The format of the show may alternate each episode:from the club-oriented, where you’ll hear the house and techno they’re renowned for, to the more eclectic where anything goes.
Regarding the future we hope to set up some nights in London and do club nights and festivals around the globe. Currently I dont have a residency in Oslo, but I hope to get one, there is a great club called Jæger I would love to play at once a month if possible, such a positive vibe and really good bookings Really small and tight scene here, so you have to become mates with the right people.
My buddy Vadim Yershov might come and visit in December, and we plan on making some more tracks together if he makes it over here.
