Ian Brown has not bought clothes since 1999, he has revealed.
Former Stone Roses man Ian Brown claims he has not been clothes shopping for more than ten years.

The singer told Absolute Radio that he receives so many clothes for free that he does not have to worry about buying them.

He explained: "The only item of clothing I've bought in the last 11 years is a Burberry cashmere tartan scarf."

Brown added that he is sent a box from Japan every two months which contains items from top streetwear designer Kazuki Kuraishi, who has been responsible for every garment the singer has been seen in since 1999.

The musician also told the broadcaster that he would like to be reincarnated as Japanese, as he thinks visiting the country is like seeing another planet.

Last month, Brown told BBC Radio 6 Music that he turned down a song which ex-Stone Roses guitarist John Squire wrote for his recent solo album My Way.

During his Strangeways residency he did not have to buy clothes either .

As Hypo says, he only keeps the very limited stuff and gives away the rest.
