    HARRY AVERS presents
Noice! - Episode 249 Death on the Balcony (Culprit)

This was the Fourth mix in our series with the LA based Culprit Label. Please enjoy this little ditty of a Mix. For some time now the combined forces of Mark Caramelli and Paul Hargreaves have been causing quite a stir under their guise, Death on the Balcony. Their unique style fuses a range of influences from Disco, House to Deep Techno and everything in-between depending on the time, space and environment. Years of dedicated musical passion and an eclectic appreciation of numerous genres have lead to their sound becoming perfected and receiving huge popularity across the board. 2010 was an amazing year for them with numerous DJ gigs and both their productions and remixes receiving mass support from some of the biggest players on the scene. The likes of Magda, Soul Clap, Jimpster, Wolf + Lamb and Ivan Smagghe to name a few, have all been charting their releases and supporting them with mass airplay. The recently released “Aquarian Exposition" EP on their own label, Magicbag, is an inspired homage to the legendary Woodstock Festival and has been awarded Mixmag's Tune of the month in the May 2010 edition. Sept 2010 saw the release of Soul Clap's 2nd FreE.P which included DOTB's Banarama edit of Cruel Summer entitled "Cruel Banana". This was heard on dancefloors across the globe resulting in it being awarded 3rd best remix of 2010 by Data Transmission website. The edit came out around the same time their "Adventures of Soul Clap Podcast - Downtown:Uptown" was released which has also gone on to receive worldwide acclaim. (click pic below to get podcast) Their imprint, Magicbag Music now on its 5th release is currently a popular label and receives continued support from a diverse range of people ranging from Radio 1’s Mary Anne Hobbs through to Jamie Jones, Brothers Vibe and basically the majority of the underground dance community. They have been remixed on their label Magicbag & various associated labels by Simon Baker, Gavin Herlihy, Soul Clap, Jozif, & Miquel Puente. DOTB's DJ diary sees them play at some of the best spots in the world alongside the likes of Moodymann, Dyed Soundorom, Jamie Jones, Jacques Renault and many more. Based in Leeds & regulars in London they run their own club nights Throwback (Leeds) & Emmanuelle's Party Bucket at the infamous Horse&Groom in Shoreditch. Throwback & The Party Bucket are currently popular nights in the cities and recent guests have included Soul Clap, Craig Smith, Pete Herbert, The Revenge and Mark E who are yet more artists that fully support Death on the Balcony in all that they do. Their release schedule is planned out until summer with DOTB releasing with the likes of Culprit, Catz n Dogz label Pets Recordings, Jef K's Silver Network, Airdrop, Akbal Music, ISM & Illusion + a forthcoming release on their own imprint Magicbag Music. They are also busy remixing for Need Want, Remote Records & Illusion. Along with all this they are working on a Limited CD mix of their own productions for release in spring/summer named Views from the Balcony... As one of the UK’s finest up and coming acts Death on the Balcony will be delivering more productions, remixes and playing world wide gigs as their range of musicality continues to evolve and they deliver a unique, well-timed narrative of the best sounds around...
