Tracklist:
This CD is by far one of the most twisted mindfucks of a compilation I've heard for quite some time. To put it bluntly, this disc taunts the listener by whispering in your ear that it's going to brutally fuck you and it doesn't matter if you have lube or not.
All-in-all Phil chose the perfect songs. 'Slur' is the perfect opening track and gives you just a taste of the deranged trip you're about to embark upon and Habersham's 'Song of the Lizard' employs his usual dark and nasty bassline but also adds a loop of an unfamiliar element, an acidic trumpet. The core of the disc is a wonderful journey through the parts of your brain where your mother told you never to go. There's the usual 'track I could do without': 'A.B.E. (Real 128 Mix)' which I don't feel fits in with the style and direction of the disc but Phil recovers from that vocal breaks track nicely by leading into 'The Devil's Logic' which is the perfect title to be included on this disc. The disc ends far too soon with arguably one of the most amazing tracks on the CD: Andy Page's 'Serpent'. With its amazing guitar riff and electro samples, 'Serpent' is going to be a massive tune and any description I give will not do the track justice.
I give the disc an easy 8.5/10 and urge those that like dark, nasty, twisted progressive breaks to pick it up ASAP. Just make sure you have plenty of Vaseline.
