Hi folks.. !
.AUdio is back once again, and this month we're going to start in a cave underground - and then keep digging. We're leaving "progressive" far behind and diving headlong into a tech-flavoured show. I've picked up two new, completely exclusive sets from one of the tech centres of the world - Melbourne.
Kicking things off is a LIVE set by Pat Stormont. Now, the name may not be known to you but I can guarentee if you like just about any flavour of acid, minimal techno or tech house then this is going to rock your world. The set is live from Fang, and was performed using an IBM Thinkpad with Ableton, plus an Evolution UC33 midi controller, Akai MPD16 midi controller and an Vermona M.A.R.S. analogue synth. Absolutely wicked mix.. definitely one of the strongest unsigned producers I've heard of late.
Straight after Pat is another Melbourne boy who I featured a short mix of a few months back - Sam McEwin. Sam's sound is like a combo of John Tejada and James Zabiela, combining a tech background with soulful basslines, and a house groove. In other words: awesome. This is a three hour set, mixed live for us to enjoy starting off with Aril Brikha?s hypnotic ?Deep Lullaby? and finishing out with Miss Kitten and the Hackers classic ?Stock Exchange? Sam's also a part of the Melbourne Techno Collective, well known for regular nights around the city really focussing on quality music.
Catch it, only on www.protonradio.com!
New York (EST): Thursday, March 7 @ 5pm
Los Angeles (PST): Thursday, March 17 @ 2pm
London (GMT): Thursday, March 17 @ 10pm
Sydney (AEST): Friday, March 18 @ 9am
Hope you enjoy the show.
(Next month: step back in time with an extended classics set with Robbie Lowe... if the record exists - this guy has it. Lock it in!)
