    Release Notes:

    01. &ME - Purple Rain [Keinemusik | KM012]

One could say, &ME is following quite big footsteps when naming the A1 on his new
Keinemusik release “Purple Rain”. On the other hand: Princeʼs shoe size might measure a decent 4,5. Thatʼs not even big enough to collect the plaster that will crumble from the ceiling after igniting this very floor epiphany. With this tune, &ME is following the path of reduction and straightness, he already opened with his preceding releases. Weʼll find explicitness in its lyrics, claps as gratifying as in an enduring spanking session and a carpet of white noise that could be modelled after the addressed rain shower or maybe even after a smearing broom, thatʼs clearing the traces of sweat and the juice of arousal “Purple Rain” most definitely will
    leave on the dance-floor.

With “Glaced” on the flip-side, &ME is taking three minutes to build it up spectacularly, just to change plans abruptly and throw it into another, quite unexpected direction. The then occurring and ongoing bass miniature wonʼt leave your head for some time to follow, thatʼs for sure. Let alone your legs.

    02. Chloé - Watch Out [Bpitch Control | BPC245]

Dear Friends of BPC, Please give a warm welcome to Chloé! The Parisian DJ’s sets have been celebrated across Europe in the best clubs and festivals. In 2007, Chloé Thevenin also made a memorable name for herself in producer circles with her successful debut album “The Waiting Room”. While in most cases Chloé releases her latest tracks on her own label “Kill The DJ”, she is now returning to BPC after a successful guest performance with Sasche Funke in 2006 – and has a brand-new 12” in tow.

With “Watch Out”, the Parisian lives up to her infamous reputation for uncompromising sound. The three tracks lead us deep into the dance floor catacombs and once there, ignite a true display of sound and beat fireworks. Chloé deliberately chose not to use tonal elements, and there are also no signs of melodies. Only “The Shift” is a little more relaxed, while the electro epics “Chatterbox” and “Watch Out” are both functionally and masterfully shaped by powerful beats and thrilling sound fragments. Club music par excellence!

    03. Subb-an - This Place [Saved Records | SAVED073]

The latest Saved output comes from One Records co-owner and Berlin-based artist Subb-an.

For his release Subb-an presents "This Place", a record which is deep, groovy and is laced with a very catchy vocal. Finishing off the release is label boss, Nic Fanciulli who delivers his rendition on the flip-side with a very cool sharp remix featuring several of the original parts as well as the vocals and works it to great effect.

An all round great package which will be dominating dance-floors to the close of the year and well into 2012.

    Release/catalogue number: SAVED073
    Release date: Nov 28, 2011

    04. Marc Miroir - Disco Nap (David Mayer Remix) [Paso Music | PASO032]

    TRACK LISTING

    A1: Gatecrasher
    A2: Disco Nap ( Original )
B: Disco Nap ( David Mayer Remix )

After storming tracks released on LevelNonZero, Bondage Music and Trapez ltd., Marc Miroir is coming home to his own imprint, PASO Music, ending the year with a smashing release called “Disco Nap”. In typical Marc Miroir style, “Disco Nap” and “Gatecrasher” are marked by their idiosyncratic groove and modulated sounds which will have dance floors pulsating.

The first of three up-coming releases, it is an electrifying tease of what to expect on his debut album “Hitting Home”, due to be released in march 2012. In addition there is a brilliant Remix by David Mayer known for the last Paso Music release “Fortune” which was highly ranked in the beatport charts for weeks.

This three track single is full of delicious and fine tech-house to pleasure your ears and force you directly onto the dancefloor.

    05. Summer (Brendon Collins) - Suger Glider (Ian O'Donovan Remix) [Tulipa Recordings | TULIPA022]

Summer (Brendon Collins) // Overshooting Tops (includes Lonya, Giorgos Gatzigristos, Jussi-Pekka, Ian O'Donovan, and Frogs In Socks Remixes)

    Tracklist:

Summer (Brendon Collins) - Nutriatastic (Lonya Remix)
Summer (Brendon Collins) - Doppler (Giorgos Gatzigristos Remix)
Summer (Brendon Collins) - Love Affair At Sea (Jussi-Pekka Remix)
Summer (Brendon Collins) - Sugar Glider (Ian O'Donovan Remix)
Summer (Brendon Collins) - Useppa (Frogs In Socks Remix)

Tulipa Recordings boss Summer (Brendon Collins) decides to release something special in celebration of his birthday on November 15th. He has asked a number of his favorite producers to remix a collection of some of his tracks released within the past year or so. The resulting forecast is Overshooting Tops.

Lonya remixes Nutriatastic, a tune that was setting off sirens in the dance circuit in early 2011. Lonya puts together an ascending groover with a trippy synth progression and deep updrafts. Giorgos Gatzigristos takes an upcoming track by Summer, Doppler, and brews it into a thunderstorm. His version of Doppler seems to bathe in the humidity between twisted techno and trippy house. Jussi-Pekka is up next with his perspective on Summer's Love Affair At Sea. He stirs things up into a melodic cyclone. Ian O'Donovan disassembles one of Summer's most popular tracks, Sugar Glider, and deploys a remix that swirls with Ian's classic sounding techno elements. He brings his signature sound to the table with superb results. Frogs In Socks end things with their remix of Useppa. They coalesce a foggy version that steams with sultry goodness, making a perfect ending to this low pressured EP.

Summer (Brendon Collins) is very honored to have such great producers participate in this project. Each track has its own unique structure. Together they contribute to the final process that results in Overshooting Tops.

    06. Electric Rescue - Dope [Bedrock Digital | Beddigi-13]

Electric Rescue - Dope 12" Vinyl Limited to 100 copies : Order your copy now and the vinyl will be delivered to you around the release date of November 28th. Once we sell out of the 100 copies there will be no more vinyl pressed on this release. This is the original release on Sign Industry on white vinyl which we have licensed from them and been able to get our hands on the last 100 vinyl copies available.

For the sign-industry n°2, Electric rescue (cocoon, boysnoize, sci+tec, etc …) propose 2 techno bombs, Dope and Open Fire Accompanied by a Dope break beat to electronica version epic and sentimental.

A1 - Dope is a balearic techno monster combines elegant detroit techno sounds to the groove of the biggest tech house hits.

B1 - Open fire is the second techno weapon made in Rave but could make any club dance floor becoming crazy. This track is on one hand totally ravy but also totally open minded and unifier

Those 2 tracks totally fits to the underground profile from the artist but can also burn any eclectique dance floor.

    10. Mark Fanciulli & Jordan Peak - Keep On [Area Remote | AREA035]

A Tech House Flight Of The Bumble Bee Provides The Wind And Propels You Across Multi Beats, Shimmering Chords And Occasional Vocal Refreshments. You Know What To Do - Just Keep On Moving! On The Flip Shinedoe On The Remix Duties!

    [Ibiza Voice Review 6/10]

Two of the foremost emerging talents in British techno and house, Mark Fanciulli and Jordan Peak join forces here on a label that knows a thing or two about fostering the prodigious and precocious.

“Keep On” sees the duo take to Amsterdam's Area Remote imprint for an effort that's (for the most part), far removed from the monotonous, heavily filtered tech-house sound that's dominated the lowlands - and often the labels - sound of late. Instead, the lead title features little more than a steady, rising groove that's underpinned by a barrage of forceful and catchy loops.

It's as a Dj tool that it'll earn its kudos, but judged as a standalone effort it'll earn its detractors too, what with its relatively simple few components never truly blossoming in to anything truly expansive, tangible or noteworthy.

Dutch veteran producer and Intacto owner Shinedoe spins a whole new yarn though, habitually and sporadically making use of the admittedly useful loop: by building a more muscular, more heaving techno work-out around the original's core. It's an often subtle, always obvious rework, but one that'll make all the difference on the floor - not least as a result of its newly found intensity.

Occasionally uninspiring and generic but not without its uses, Area 035 thrills and disappoints in equal measure, which indeed, is a mantra that can also be applied to much of the label's general recent output.

    11. D-Nox & Beckers - Jacaranda (Dosem Remix) [Tronic Music | TRCD05R]

    Coming soon on [Tronic Music]

Having released D-Nox & Beckers ‘Distance’ album in May 2011, Christian Smith’s Tronic label have assembled an impressive cast of talent for this two-part remix package which will bridge the labels release schedule as 2011 ends and 2012 begins. Bringing together names from techno, tech house and progressive, this collection of reworks reflects the broad music styling of the original album but also embodies the genre range across which Tronic has come to operate; seamlessly blending deep, tough, melodic and percussive flavours.

Part One of the remix package contains a mix of names; many familiar to those who have followed Tronic’s 2011 releases, some new to the label, all delivering the goods! Having earned their stripes via previous releases, Hermanez (jacking, building tech house), Dosem (big room, melodic tech house) and Wehbba & DJ Anna (bassline hook progressive) have all represented the Tronic roster with pitch perfect, dynamic reworkings that neatly tie in the multi-falvours of the original tracks to the Tronic prevailing sonic template. New comers Dustin Zahn (slamming techno with jazz keys!) and Facundo Mohr (driving, melodic house) on the other hand have added something different to the usual Tronic fare; making the collection all the richer for it.

Our new single Tears in vain by Simon Garcia and remixed by Deetron gots huge dj supports from Tensnake, Joris Voorn, Tiefschwarz, Dj Hell, Ewan Pearson, D'julz, Sebo K, Steve Bug or Maya Jane Cole! The vinyls will arrive next week and the digital thing soon after.

    Released by: Perspectiv
    Release/catalogue number: PSPV0035
    Release date: Nov 5, 2011

    [Ibiza Voice Review 8/10]

If you haven't already checked out Deetron's Balance instalment, I suggest you do, as it's one of the best in what's fast become a stellar and indeed, essential mix series. Arguably the cornerstone of that release arrived courtesy of Simon Garcia's 'Tears in Vain', with the latter now (justifiably) seeing the light of day on Ripperton's Perspectiv imprint.

Enriched with a series of hypnotic beats and vaguely progressive, deep textures, the track is aptly titled too: with a melancholy air and a desperation, almost yearning for nothing in particular manifested by its manic, ghoulish synths and of course, its shrewd vocal. Sure to act as a pivotal moment in any set it pervades, it's also a suitable weapon with which to draw listeners down a more bewildering path.

On the B side, it's Deetron himself who takes care of remix proceedings. After the success of 'Starblazer' and the aforementioned Balance outing, it's safe to say the Swiss native has enjoyed a mightily assured 2011. His 'Slave to the Rave' reworking sees him in vintage mood too: mapping out his dance floor credentials via a driving, hoover like whoosh and an unexpected bassline that acts as the perfect spine.

A joy to hear unravel, Deetron's mix combines the old/new school capabilities of Joris Voorn with the wildly unpredictable nature of say, Axel Boman. Suffice to say, it's all crafted with with aplomb too. In a month that's unexpectedly emitted a raft of superb releases, Garcia's latest is still one to savour, right up there with the very best of them.

    16. Lee Van Dowski - 1977 [Rekids | REKIDS058]

    17. Lee Van Dowski - On [Rekids | REKIDS058]

To date Lee Van Dowski has released records on a plethora of labels including BPitch Control, Cadenza, Mobilee, Soma and Wagon Repair. This is Lee’s first outing on the Rekids label, coming hot on the heels of his DJ slot at the Rekids' night at Panorama Bar in Berlin.

"On" is an Eastern-tinted (that'll be those haunting pipes and plucked strings) epic house driver. Very much in the Rekids four-to-the-floor style, this is a track to get lost in... "1977" keeps that eastern vibe, with more string-plucking and a hooky piano line layered over an upbeat, percussive house rhythm. A proper peak-time between-anthems dance-floor smasher.

    Released by: Rekids
    Release/catalogue number: REKIDS058
    Release date: Nov 7, 2011

    18. Alessio Mereu - Revived [Poker Flat Digital | PFD12]

Prolific Sardinian producer Alessio Mereu has really come into the spotlight over recent months thanks to his tireless efforts in the studio. Having just released his debut album, 'Tripolarity', on his own Amam label, its about time he joined the crew on Steve Bug's Digital offshoot.

The sneaky, old-school flavoured acid vibes of 'Parallel Universe' swirl and tweak in edgy spirals as Mereu creates his own tribute to the classic Poker Flat sound, while adding his own careful and detailed production sheen. Pitched vocals and dark atmospheres are the icing on the cake here as the moody synths add the delicious filling.

In a more freaky and mysterious jam, '2 Points After You' offers a dark and melodic tool for the heavier floors. Subtle arrangements and intriguing FX push the track onwards as it rolls and twists with much modulation.

A melancholic anthem for future nights, 'Revived' snakes through a beautiful synth-led melody that lifts us into euphoric zones. Essential open-air festival soundtrack we say!

Finally - Beatport exclusive - the rich New York inspired 'Deadly Love' maintains the feel good vibes in a shuffling, bouncing club story. If the Sound Factory was still alive, this would be the flavour of the night!

unfortunately ~120min @ 256kbps means more than 200MB - which is the limit of mediafire.
            I will use megaupload instead.

Cheers emusic ... some fanstastic tunes this week

From Digger's Facebook, Forum, Twitter etc.

With so much great music out there at the moment this weeks show is an extended 2 hour mix bringing you the very best from my record box. There’s a whole raft of exclusives, including a preview of the remaining Bedrock releases as another vintage year nears an end : Electric Rescue’s ‘Dope’ has been one of the tracks of summer, and is still doing the business on the floor in winter ! Marco Bailey has been in imperious form, starting 2011 off with his ‘Dragon Man’ album, yet still finding time to release some great terrace tunes in Faint Hope/Sa Trinxa, before round things off very nicely with his new Oriental Concept EP. Belfast techno titans Psycatron have also had a great run of form, with tracks on Planet E, Cocoon and Tresor as well as the music I recently featured for microCastle.

As a label boss myself it’s great to have newer labels like Keinemusik, Klektik, Tulipa, Pespectiv, Paso and Area Remote bringing us new and emerging talent - conclusive proof that the underground electronic scene is flourishing across the globe from Berlin to Chicago to St Louis, then back across the Atlantic to Switzerland & Holland. Spain is proving to be a real hotbed of young emerging talent - make sure you check out the music in this show from Simon Garcia and Dosem, both of whom provided some great recent remixes for Bedrock.

There’s also music within the 2 hours from some of the tried and tested staples in my sets, with Steve Bug’s Poker Flat, Carl Cox’s Intec, Radio Slave’s Rekids and Ellen Allien’s Bpitch Control continuing to rack up quality after quality release. So enjoy the two hours and support the artists that put in many many hours locked in their studio to ensure that DJs can bring you new and exciting tunes each week.

Enjoy and listen again at www.johndigweed.com !

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
