    Hugo (2011)

The art of cinema has come to an age in the Twenty First Century, alas the potential of adding an extra dimension from the screen. Since it's inclusion I always felt the potential that 3D has to cinema is overwhelming, however Hollywood has, in my opinion failed to make use of this to it's fullest.

How clever it was of Scorsese to bind the origins of the silent French film era; the beginnings of cinema itself with today's modern technological advancements.

Without spoiling too much the opening scene can be claimed to be cinemas greatest feats of the embracement of 3D. I really was blown away.

Fantastic cast, and an pleasant humorous surprises from Sacha Baron Cohen, really will open up the eyes of the young and old.

It is another masterpiece from Scorsese but the photography and design has driven this movie much further to what it stands at, Hugo is to me a celebration of film and the encapsulating world it may take you into. For me it's definitely an unmissable film, and do make sure to watch it in 3D!

Caught it in 3D on the last day.

Best 3D experience I've had in a cinema (but I've only seen Avatar and Alice in Wonderland). Felt like a kid again.

The world is extremely well crafted and built, love the colors and textures on the costumes. Beyond the more obvious 3D effects and CG, the costumes were a stand-out. The attention to detail is amazing.

          Soundtrack was good too.

The story is sweet and quaint. Feels very much like a Pixar cartoon shot live-action, can easily imagine this as a cartoon. A bit Disney-esque too.

It was definitely long, but at the same time I didn't mind it; exploring the world and can't get enough of the details.

Really wanted to watch this in 3D with no luck.... will have to settle for a Bluray copy instead.
