I highly recommend u give Boardwalk Empire a chance! Both seasons have been pure quality.
as for film in 2011 I did not think that this was a great year. However, one film for me stands out about all others...Tree Of Life. Viewers either love or hate this film, but regardless of your overall opinion you can't ignore the combination of visual & audio artistry that is truly unique. Not to mention that what truly makes this a great film is it's overall impact on the viewer even though there is little dialogue to be found. I definitely recommend seeing this!Comment

^ Agreed, if you haven't seen Boardwalk Empire, give it a try.. solid character development, good acting, authentic atmosphere..
Forgot about that one.. very well done!
Simple plot, good cinematography .. i liked it for some reason. But overall it wasn't a great year in terms of film. The people at The Academy are probably thinking the same thing
