Black Magic is the name of my new residency at Trouw Amsterdam. Hard to describe the genre...does Goth Techno exist? Here's the press release with a short explanation of what the night is all about:
Embrace the darkness. Black Magic is the new clubnight of Trouw resident Patrice Bäumel, custom-made for the basement floor of Trouw. Musically, the night will focus on the darker areas of electronic dance music. Think Louderbach, Closer, Sigur Ros, Depeche Mode, Dark Wave / EBM, Mathew Jonson, Joy Division, Kraftwerk, The Cure, DAF, Shackleton, Zola Jesus etc. Slick, tasteful, emotional. Featuring an extremely dark dancefloor, perfect for the journey inwards. A place for loners, dreamers, misfits and everybody in need of a time-out from constant cheerfulness. Guest act for the first edition of Black Magic on December 23, 2011 is DJ Hell.
