    SHUT UP AND DANCE!!

    Friday January 27th 8pm-5am www.Epicnyc.tv

The Grandfather" of Universal Hip Hop Culture and The Electro Funk

    Sound...

    ***AFRIKA BAMBAATAA*** (Zulu Nation, NYC)

Afrika Bambaataa is one of the three Godfathers of hip hop culture.

A world-renowned DJ from the South Bronx, who was instrumental in

the early development of Hip Hop throughout the 1970s. Afrika

Bambaataa is one of the three main originators of break-beat

deeJjaying, and is respectfully known as the “Grandfather” and

“Godfather” and The Amen Ra of Universal Hip Hop Culture as well as

The Father of The Electro Funk Sound. Through his co-opting of the

street gang the Black Spades into the music and culture-oriented

Universal Zulu Nation, he is responsible for spreading rap and

hip-hop culture throughout the world. Like many of the early

pioneers in Hip-Hop, he is of West Indian descent. On September 27,

2007, he was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of

    Fame.

The First Queen Of The Jungle - spinning old school drum-

    bass/jungle set!!!

***DJ RAP*** (Ministry of Sound / Propa / Impropa Talent, UK-LA)

Charissa Saverio, a.k.a. DJ RAP, has been the undisputed queen of

the turntables and voted the number one female DJ in the world for

the last 10 years! DJ Rap has infiltrated the music industry with

her arsenal of talent. She has established herself as the CEO of

her labels: Propa and Impropa Talent, developed her creative

direction as a full-fledged producer, and remains to be the

recording artist and DJ that everyone has come to love and love

dance to! She is also a classically trained pianist and song

writer, amongst many other talents! Rap has dominated such genres

as house and drum & bass. After waiting several years to be able to

re-record (not re-mix) the single, "Good To Be Alive - 2011", DJ

Rap was finally able to step into the studio to revive the track.

Originally, this single was released on the multi-platinum album

"Learning Curve", that was previously released on Sony Records. In

Summer 2011 the long awaited re-release of "Good to be Alive -

2011" launched! A new music video also accompanied the release. The

video captures the ever glamorous and beautiful DJ Rap, it is as if

she is ageless. Her voice is equally preserved and this is evident

in the newly recorded vocals heard on the track. "Good To Be

Alive", became known to us as an anthem following the original

release and to fans now and then, it still is. Rap has produced

music for play station, Wii, and 7 major movies. Examples of her

portfolio are evident in her work for Twix, Mission Impossible (Tom

Cruise), Isolation, Run Lola Run, Enough (J-lo), Rogue Trader (Ewan

McGregor) Multi-talented, accomplished, ambitious, and driven by

her passion to create and her love for music, DJ Rap is not a name

from music's past, it is the name of music now and an inspiration

    to music's future.

Setting out to create his own unique sound and fueled by the

Industrial sound of the time, his first album was released in the

spring of 1990 and was full of hard hitting industrial beats,

heavily distorted guitars, and ripping synth lines. The Music Press

voted the debut album " Best Industrial Album" and voted Dose "Best

Industrial Artist" by their readers. In 1996 his first 12"

"Erotophobia" was released on the San Francisco based 'Utopiate

Recordings'. The tracked combined all the elements of his years of

music training with roots in rock, techno, and his quirky alien

like noises that signified the alien trademark. 2007 has seen

multiple Dose the Alien Tracks and Remixes on labels such as

"Protium Muisc", "SinSation Sound", and his own Label "Visionary

Mindz," including top 20 charting Juno track "So Sexy" and his

Born and bred in Brooklyn, New York, this former Graffiti Artist

turned DJ has been an influential part of the underground music

scene since 1994. John is considered one of Brooklyn's originators

for the harder styles of dance for several reasons. After a trip to

Holland nine years ago, John discovered a new sound of music, that

would later be named Hardstyle, and immediately fell in love. John

knew instantly that he wanted to deliver this new sound to the

masses here in America, and while he is extremely humble, John is

considered by many to be one of the best, and one of the first, DJs

to play Hardstyle here in the United States. John is also one of

the first Hardstyle artists on Beatport to release his tracks for

download. Tracks like "Feel It", "Take Me To The Top", "Locked

Inside Your Mind", and "Kick In The Bass". With production hits

like that to his credit and his superb track selection, it's no
