I am betting that all of these companies preemptively doing this realize that the only reason why they exist is because they are mainly profiting off of piracy, or are not doing much but half ass respond to DMCA takedown requests and they know they can't get away with it any longer. Note Mediafire isn't changing anything as of now, it seems they are already acting in good faith and have properly implemented procedures to deal with this already. As they should.
