The spontaneity of a DJ is something we have grown to love, and it is those who are most impulsive behind the decks that produce the best sets I’m sure you have ever witnessed. To take this a stage further is to put two DJ’s of this ilk in the booth, let them connect with the crowd and with each other. Not knowing what your DJ counterpart may play next and where they might take the set not only keeps the crowd engaged, but also each other on their toes. It is for this reason deep’art are a duo and thinking behind our next installment.
For our third party we have two special guests. First up we have the brothers that everyone are talking about, the excellent Krankbrothers. In a very short space of time these guys are becoming well know for their sets, parties and most recently their booking agency.
Then to cap the evening off we have put together two very talented DJ’s and producers. Corey Baker, one third of WiLDKATS, and Rebel, co-founder of Save The Pony. This a very rare and unique back-to-back offering that is sure to please the deep’art faithful.
Essentially this is a night which is going to showcase new, etablished and fresh DJ partnerships.
We are also back at what we like to call our home…Basing House, Dalston. Host to a number of parties this year, Basing House continues to receive industry recognition for what it was set out to do and that is showcase cutting edge electronic music.
Now for some more info on to the sound track for the evening…
Corey Baker B2B Rebel
(WiLDKATS /Hot Creations / Lower East / Digital Delight)
Now known for his East London production trio Wildkats, Corey is currently on the verge of something big. With recent signings to Jamie Jones' and Lee Foss's Hot Creations label as Wildkats, to his collaboration with Richy Ahmed, remixing Black Strobe's Italian Fireflies coming out on the French powerhouse electro label Kitsune, the future looks bright for the up and coming producer.
Unlike many weird and wonderful names in music, this one couldn’t be more descriptive if it led a revolution. Never one for conforming, following or holding back, Jonny ‘Rebel’ Lawrence is here to leave Mr. Rulebook quaking in his boots! Rebel is soon to release his Grass Roots Ep on the fantastic Digital Delight, and has forthcoming EPs on Lower East, Hourglass and Electronquie.
Krankbrothers
(Krankbrother Agency)
Danny Clancy and Kieran Clancy are the founders, organisers and resident DJs at krankbrother, which is considered one of the best parties in London right now. Although they are both DJs within their own rights, the true sound of their parties comes when they are playing straight back to back as krankbrothers – with Kieran’s love of harder basslines and crunching snares offset by Dan’s penchant for vocals, synths and funk. Their sound has shaped their parties, and the parties have shaped their sound with particular influence being drawn from the many acts they’ve been lucky enough to play alongside such as DJ T, Lee Foss, Pan-Pot, Dyed Soundorom, Ivan Smagghe and Nic Fancuilli.
deep'art
(Residents)
Hosting this party is DJ duo deep'art (Revell & Chris Ware). They are as passionate about being behind the decks as in front of them, and it is for this reason they understand the ingredients to set the dance floor alight. The summer has seen them busy immersing themselves in the scene, gig’ing, and putting on their well thought out showcase parties. 2012 is promising to be a big year for these guys and they will be start the year as they mean to go on by supporting Miguel Campbell NYE. They are also working on some hot productions with releases hoped for the middle/end of next year.
Limited advanced £7 tickets (plus BF) for this intimate affair. Tickets soon to be available via Resident Advisor.
