Louche Podcast - Louche 071 - Jenifa Mayanja

Deep house smoothness coming atcha this week, courtesy of Jenifa Mayanja. The Ugandan born musician now based in New York has been part of the underground house scene in NYC for 18 years, beginning her professional career as a dj and progressing into production into the late nineties. Remaining under the radar through her career, Jenifa is now starting to emerge into the limelight; a gig at Panorama Bar is coming up this weekend, and she's remixed Nina Kraviz and a release on Fred P's label Soul People recently. Her label Bumako Recordings has gone from strength top strength, with it's vinyl releases featuring artists from Lady Blacktronika to Anton Zap. Currently Jenifa and her famous other half DJ Jus-Ed have joined forces to create the “EDJ”, series featuring limited vinyl releases and cds which are self distributed.
