Saw this on Sunday in 3D - I enjoyed it but kept comparing it to Avatar and it doesn't come close to comparing in terms of scenery, cgi etc. But i do give it a healthy 6/10

A healthy 6/10 means a 200 Million dollar loss for Disney.
I've read on several different websites that this movie could have been so much better if it had stuck to the book, and that Disney watered it down. In particular, they should have changed the title to, as it was suggested, "the Princess of Mars" or something along those lines (because "john carter" was non-descript an not informative of what the movie was about). I may watch this on Netflix, but almost every review I have read tells me to read the book.you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

I tend not to watch movies on the big screen that often so when i see a trailer I like I get the missus and I down to watch it. I hardly ever read reviews (maybe i should start) and go on the basis of what the trailer does for me. Last movie before this that i watched at the cimema was immortals so I dont get down that often

Finally got round to seeing this. Even IMAX and 3D couldn't help inject any excitement into this snoozefest.
