We are pleased to bring together 3 of Techno's biggest players to mark the 20th anniversary of the very first Slam at the Arches.
Slam will be, as always, pushing boundaries. They plan 2 sets on the 20th anniversary of their very first appearance in the Arches. They will be opening up the party in the front arch – the room they made their own for 6 years, every Friday from April 10th 1992 – playing an expert and emotive selection of future music with some of their own unreleased creations, with a nod to the past too of course. Berlin's Berghain is one of their favourite clubs to play and it's resident Ben Klock is a firm Slam favourite, so it seems apt to bring him back to Glasgow a year after his legendary 3 performances on his last visit, when he slaughtered the Electric Frog, the Pressure after party and then Substanz Underground all in the course of 1 day and night.
After Laurent Garnier's marathon L.B.S. performance, Slam will close the party with a set of classics in the famed Back Arch. Laurent has guested with Slam since the parties of the eary 90's and then continued when the club evolved into Pressure in 1998. His musical diversity and DJing flair has cemented him as a hero amongst clubbers everywhere. The L.B.S. Tour is next level Laurent Garnier. Whether we think of this new project as Laurent, Ben & Scan X, Live Booth Sessions or Loud Bass & Samples, what's clear is that L.B.S. will be comprised of Laurent Garnier, Benjamin Rippert and Stephane "Scan X" Dri. Garnier manning turntables and "machines," Rippert playing keys, and Dri on also on machines, giving Laurent the freedom to weave other people's music into the set via decks, juxtaposing live renditions of his own material.
