he's far from having trouble getting gigs though ( actually he plays here next month )

the thing thats wrong here ( in this whole thread ) is that sneak is old school, the stuff he plays is new but old sounding and the kids today who are fresh on the scene just aint listening to that sort of stuff yet, i'd go as far to say that sasha and digweed are in the same category but these guys stay true to older values because they were brought up with the older way of doing thing so imo he has a point when talking about shm ( spit spit spit ) these guys just play cd's and although it may not be our/ur taste ( which is understandable ) they are hardly showing kids today what being a true dj is all about but at the same time they are bringing kids into the scene which is keeping the whole thing going..... people keep forgetting that people age over time

And what is this older way of doing things. Most DJ's just play CD's that's all Digweed, Howells etc do too yes they play the tracks in some sort of coherent order (some people call that programming, another over the top phrase). I wouldn't hold your hopes on young kids having some revelation after lightening to a Transitions show and suddenly becoming Sasha, Digweed or sneak fans. You only have to look at the crowds at Bedrock or Renaissance nights to see that. The average punter in there are in their mid thirty's to forty's.

I think by older way he means not having beautiful douchy David Guetta style locks and leather jackets and fucking around during the superbowl halftime. IE just playing good music is more important than looking cool.

its like comparing a joiner that used the manual saw to the one the now uses the electrical saw, old way is using the ear to not only beat match properly but also use correct pitch to blend the tunes, now technology does all that for u long before u even purchase the tunes thus giving sneak etc a ground to moan the fuck out of new dj's because they have been brought up in a technology inflicted age, i can totally see where sneak is coming from because a lot of the manual skill has been lost to computer programs and imo has also at the same time down graded the quality of the stuff ur hearing today.

about them becoming sneak digweed or sasha fan i think u might be in the wrong there because from my point of view i used to laugh @ sasha sets when i was into hardcore etc and yet i still became one of sasha's biggest fans as i progressed, this is why i made the point of saying that people age over time which imo makes the current shm fans will turn out to be into other things when they mature a little bit ( i.e. will become fan of the current sasha digweed of thier times )

u just have to accept that things move on and rather arguing about it just accept it

Maybe people should waste less time pissing and moaning about other people pissing and moaning about music they don't like and more time enjoying the people they do.

Word up to this. I got mad love for DJ Sneak, but when peeps start complaining like this, it comes off more like my hardcore is harder than yours kind of bullshit.

Different music appeals to different audiences - if you really want to lay that comment somewhere more appropriate lay it towards the peeps that wouldn't have a DJ career because of an agent that is trying to diversify their client's exposure into markets that would give them attention for something that their skills wouldn't normally merit them attention for (ie. Pauly D from Jersey Shore or Paris Hilton)
