I was there that night....a bit about the club. Josephine is definitely a venue in DC where people go to see and be seen. Not a great layout for a dance floor. GLOW, the party there is actually solid, and they throw parties on Thrusday at Lima, Friday at Josephine, and Saturday at Fur.
The Josephine's parties are better for dj's like Robbie Rivera, Axwell, Chuckie, etc...commercial mainstream house. I think Wink was bewildered at this venue (I mean, just look at him in the picture, haha). There's no definable dance floor in Josephine...just different areas in the club that cater mostly to table service. I don't remember him playing any of the songs that actually got recorded for this set to be honest. I think this is the first hour (12-1am) Around one, he just switched over to classic house vocals (Mouse T-Horny, and I'm almost positive he played Blue Six-Music & Wine) which I loved, but it just didn't feel right for the venue.
A few months later, Josh Wink was back in DC at U Street Music Hall and it was fucking ridiculous and he played brilliantly. I tweeted to Ovum Recordings the whole night like a tool and I don't remember the last time I got so wildly drunk and had so much fun listening to a DJ play. I've asked them to release part of the night on his show but to no response.
On a different note.....I hate the voiceover on this. "It's time to piss off the neighbors." This isn't a Guns N' Roses podcast. :/ -
