This month we go to Israel, a country that has only recently been witnessing a rise in the popularity of the underground House music nightlife. While it is the birthplace for some of the most respected international headliners such as Guy Gerber, Maayan Nidam, Chaim, Shlomi Aber, and many more; most find that is still too difficult to gain popularity locally and emigrate to European destinations. This is something Dotan Bibi (aka DOT) hopes to change over the coming years. Dotan was born and still resides in Jerusalem, a city you might think, quite aloof to electronic music. Yet, he has already released on labels such as Moon Harbour, Gluckskind, and Legotek, and has an upcoming release on NYC’s notorious Thema (which you can hear in this podcast). Over the years DOT has gained much local notoriety and is now considered one of the best rising Israeli Producers. His sets and productions tend to always give homage to classic Detroit and Chicago sounds. As you will soon hear, this podcast will transport you back in time, when music was less about pop and more about soul.
