There are many types of artists and producers. There are those that stick to what they know and then there are those who explore and grow in different sounds and styles, putting all on the line in the name of progress. King Britt is the latter, a truly pioneering musician who is a widely recognised member of the royal elite of the dance music world.
Hailing from Philadelphia, King has been breaking moulds and forging a unique path as a producer, DJ, label boss and musical revolutionary for over 20 years, whilst his hugely received Fhloston Paradigm project released on the mighty Hyperdub has seen him push the boundaries once again.
We could go into the history of his hits on Strictly Rhythm, his touring with Grammy Award winning hip hop group, Digable Planets, starting Ovum Recordings with good friend Josh Wink, winning the Pew Fellowship of the Arts, his more than 20 albums and 100 remixes and collaborations for a roster of artists as diverse as Miles Davis, Curtis Mayfield, Macy Gray, De La Soul, Pharrell to Everything But the Girl and the juggernaut of a remix of Josh One's Contemplation, but we don't need to.
King Britt here and now is what we are here for. Bringing together improvisation and djing all in one set and platform, this is a true musician at work live and unfiltered, and we are very proud to be hosting his only UK party.
