Soak up some appropriately sun-drenched, psychedelic house and electronica in this week’s ClashMusic DJ mix, from Austrian production duo, Komaton.
Signed to the eclectic Dame-Music imprint founded by techno producer Bloody Mary, sound artists Tomá Ivanov and Sebastian Lehner have only been releasing tracks since 2010 but have made a deservedly big impression, thanks to a forward-thinking musicality and sensitive craftsmanship in their ear-catching and delightfully uncategorisable tunes that makes them stand out far above the crowd.
Blending refined dancefloor moods with dashes of blissed-out house and a mature electro-pop sensibility, the experimental and melodic tendancies of Ivanov and Lehner shines through in Komaton, both in their own productions and their ClashMusic mix.
The mix bubbles over with beautiful electronic textures, including the acclaimed ‘Ego’ by the all-star Burial/Four Tet/Thom Yorke team, a remix of German tech-house stalwarts Tiefschwarz, and a superb track from the latest R&S ace, Lone.
