Carl Cox was pretty good.. Digweed only played for like 45 mins or something, it was silly. Cox and Digweed are the reason I went.. I left for EDC straight after the Sasha show @ Vessel in SF

Saturday got cancelled @ around 1 am because of the wind.. I guess they were afraid the stages won't be able to take, but it was bs. Up until that point I was really enjoying dubfire's set, and Richie Hawtin was supposed to come on after him.

Re: Is America killing dance music?

Coxy was good, so was diggers, didnt we go through this EDM music fad back in mid to late 90's, it will fade in another 5 years. Being a geezer like myself who has kids who listen to EDM, one of them is into Pretty Lights, Dub Step, and such etc, the other likes Damian Lazarus, the KLF, and Sasha so the real heads will always keep EDM alive whether or not it is packaged with a bunch of filler entertainment for a distracted generation, otherwise the cash grab will continue.

So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:

                      1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
                      2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
                      3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
                      4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

                      Am I close here?

I go to see a band and I want to hear the stuff I know.

I go to see a DJ and I want to hear new stuff that blows my mind.

To me that is the difference between underground and commercial DJ's.

I don't think America (or the commercial scene that seems to be storming America) is killing the EDM scene, I just think of it as a completely different thing, it was Britpop, then grunge, then bands and now dance music, but there can be commercial dance music for the kids that will come and go alongside underground dance music. Just one is a fad while the other will always be with the people who love it.
