Re: Is America killing dance music?

Did the stadium phenomenon begin with Delta Heavy? Trance parties like Sensation White are much bigger productions, I wouldn't lay it on Delta Heavy. The table thing is also very Asian, there're more tables than dance floor space in Asian clubs I skipped Digweed in SH knowing the kinda club he was playing in.

Wanted to go to Matthew Dear + Superpitcher for NYE until I found out it was playing in the kinda club with table bookings sold out.

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.

Yeah I read that somewhere...will try & hunt it down.

      The spin-offs of delta heavy...copycats.

i've finished the year well...i will be remembered for being the guy who accused sasha & digweed of destroying dance music.

      When good times go bad.

I think even if Sasha n Digweed did start the stadium thing, there's the good and the bad. It's easy to think of all the bad stuff now associated with EDM going mainstream but think of all the people hearing Sasha n Digweed for the very first time because of Delta Heavy. It's like the first pill, I'll never have that again.

The tour concept has been around for ages ... and America has always liked a show .. so throwing cakes and arsing around in an inflatable canoe is just part of that.
Yep. And I was at Area 2 with Moby and Digweed and even Tiesto...

I dunno, I was continuing the topic by nelino. But you're right, this stadium thing was definitely around before Delta Heavy.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

That's incredible and makes the photograph far less impactful .

How dare you compare the Oakenfold shows
with sasha and digweed the "Delta Heavy"
was epic and always will be remembered.
                      its all about the quality.

Was not a particular question for you. was in general.
anyway, is not necessary to be there to know how important
it can be a festival. anyway I think they are two different things.

[QUOTE=tribalcho;1045170]''It’s been a turbulent couple of weeks for DJs in the US. Last Monday, plenty of feathers were ruffled when house hero Mark Farina alleged he’d been kicked off the decks by a “table service crowd”. Then just a few days later, Calvin Harris declared that he’d got the boot for declining to spin hip-hop and, uh, tween sensation Carly Rae Jepsen. Of course, those are just two – perhaps isolated – incidents. But considering them in the grander scheme of the EDM explosion in the States over the past few months, you’ve got to wonder: what is America doing to dance music?''

Honestly is the djs fault for accepting those fucking gigs .. i mean seriously who would fucking want to play in las vegas???? LOL
