Based on the idea of conveying a story through music during a short period of time, Synopsis is the realisation of Half Baked profile Greg Brockmann and Sami Daik and is the product of many years of partying and playing alongside each other.

Taking place every two months in the intimate settings of East London’s Basing House, widely renowned for its soundsystem and dimly lit roof garden, Synopsis aim to showcase well-established international artists as well as close friends, who are all versed in the art of presenting a narrative through music.

As such, for their launch party July 7, Synopsis are excited to welcome Harry Klein and Sushitech staple Julietta, along with Bass Culture head and Rex Club mainstay D’Julz for a night with bass at its heart.

Julietta (Harry Klein Records / Sushitech)

Inspired by the likes of Moodymann and Maurizio, upon discovering electronic music in the early 90s, Julietta has gone on to become a driving force behind Munich’s thriving house and techno scene, and a staple on the German underground scene. A Harry Klein resident, and one of the founders behind the eminent Harry Klein Records, Julietta’ sets veer between house and techno that are underpinned by an unmistakable groove and love of bass. As such, she regularly captivates crowds at institutions such as Berlin’s Panorama bar, Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson and Cocoon Club, Moscow’s Arma17 and Paris’ Rex Club. In 2010 she was also welcomed aboard the esteemed Sushitech imprint, and has since been touring the world for their label nights. This summer we can expect a 2 x 12“ compilation together with Sushitech’s label head Yossi Amoyal.

    D'Julz (Bass Culture/Ovum)

Ringleader of the Parisian Bass Culture D’Julz has with more than 20 years of DJing below his belt carved his very own niche in house music. Holding down a 10-year residency dubbed ‘Bass Culture’ at Paris’ famous Rex Club, in 2009 the night morphed into a label. Since then, due to D’Julz meticulous A&R skills, the label has become famous for its timeless output, building on meaty basslines and classic Detroit timbres, seeing the likes of Mr G, Franco Cinelli, Arnaud Le Texier and Anonym grace its catalogue. D’Julz approach to house music has seen him put out records on such noted labels as Ovum, 20:20 Vision, Dessous, Pokerflat, Real Tone, Get Physical and Mobilee, and has taken him to some of the most revered clubs and nights in the industry, including Panorama Bar in Berlin, Womb in Tokyo, DC10 in Ibiza, along with our own fabric.
