The Matias Vila track has ended up on hot new sub-label 3rd Avenue

        05. Matias Vila - Volviendo al Principio [3rd Avenue | 3AV005]

Great review below from Release Official

Matias Vila - Volviende Al Principio (3rd Avenue) | RELEAS OFFICIAL REVIEW

Sound Avenue’s quick rising 3rd Avenue imprint returns this week for the labels fifth overall release. Matias Vila makes his debut appearance on the label following a great remix for Travis MacDonald’s Agara Music just 3 weeks ago. Matias has become well known for his many fine collaborations with fellow Argentinean producers Alberto Blanco and Marcelo Paladini. Here Matias presents a solo studio effort entitled ‘Volviende Al Principio’ which comes with remixes from: Graziano Raffa, Leo Rojas & Nicolas Ruiz, Alberto Blanco & Marcelo Paladini and MartyOn & Jorgk Munuera.

Matias’ original starts the package off nicely with some lovely keys and a haunting atmospheric backdrop. It’s a gorgeous intro and it continues to build after the kick and drum elements begin to enter. The twinkly keys are incredibly enchanting and eventually give way for some more atmospheric content which dominates through to the break. If there was ever a track to emulate the sensation of ‘Floating’ this would certainly be it. The effortless vibe and smooth lines paint a gorgeous sound scape during the drop and the heavenly second half is just as good as the first with some added textures to up the intensity just a touch. A really classy sounding production from Matias.

The remixes all deliver something quite nice as well and perhaps are a bit more dance floor worthy. Graziano Raffa fresh off appearances on Sudbeat, Bermudos and 3rd Avenue delivers a powerful drummy rework that really focuses on an incredible groove. What’s really stands out for us is how the soft stabs work so well with the muted keys, the subtle hypnotic nature of the two together is magic set against Graziano’s chunky groove.

Leo Rojas and Nicholas Ruiz take a slightly softer approach but still with a good amount of dance floor punch. The two Argentineans stay true to the melodic themes from the original but present them in a much more understated way while laying down a cool tech house groove. The lovely aquatic sounds featured in the break are really breathtaking and the way the heavy groove drops back in is perfect. The subtle acid lines slowly build through the second half and enhance the meaty groove in a superlative way. Great work from Leo and Nicholas.

A second pair of Argentines Alberto Blanco & Marcelo Paladini seem to be popping everywhere of late; appearances on Sound Avenue, Crossfade Sounds, Agara and Liquid Grooves have put the pair firmly in the up and coming progressive house landscape. The duos remix here provides a great complement to the other mixes with its more spacious, tech house oriented groove. It’s one of those pieces that really catches you by surprise. The delicate sounding groove really builds; particularly in the second half. An ominous bassy growl which flows through some nice chord changes gives the track an entirely new and interesting vibe. It’s the contrast between the lovely melodic keys and the sinister sounding swells which make this such an interesting production. Great stuff from Alberto and Marcelo.

The package is closed out with MartyOn and Jorgk Munuera who are making their production debut with their remix here. It would seem the pair have crafted the perfect close to this excellent package from 3rd Avenue. It winds things down in a very cool and intricate sounding way. The subtle, almost drifting modulation on the glassy electronics are perfect for late night listening and the intricately tailored groove carries the trippy constructions with a smooth and effortless ease. Great stuff from MartyOn and Jorgk Munuera who we hope to hear more from very soon! Another top notch collection of music from 3rd Avenue. Highly Recommended.
