Bedrock’s legendary monthly club night returns to the capital for some serious underground music in one of London’s coolest venues with both residents playing extended sets over two rooms.

"I was absolutely delighted to get the call to cover this event on behalf of John and the promoter, seeing as John is such a highly respected artist and the Bedrock parties iconic within the industry it was a huge honour to be shooting the re launch of the monthly events. John had me a bit nervy before the gig posting pictures on his facebook with cameras crossed out, so I had to make a quick check that everything is ok. What john is trying to do is make a stand and get the vibe at his events he feels the punters deserve and so is trying to make a stand against people just standing there with their phones/cameras filming all night – he just wants them to have one hell of a party. Now because of this I was the only photographer working which for me is how I love to work, I know that theres exclusivity to my images and that I will be gaining maximum exposure when they are released. Anyway enough of that waffle the image in hand is something which I dont shoot often as I like to keep things dependant on the party, now the bedrock events being a bit darker and more underground I wanted to do something with very shallow depth of field showing the branding on Johns headphones but without it being a simple headphone image. With John being in the background with his bedrock Tshirt* on for me it give the extra dimension to the image which i wanted."
